"I know I've only met your uncle this once but he seems like a nice guy," I said swinging my hand along with Raye's as we walked to my apartment.
The night was beautiful, the perfect temperature to be outdoors and along with that, being in Raye's company was always so nice. "Yeah, he is a great guy,""Seems a lot like you with his charisma, reminded me of you back there tonight," She chuckled at my confession, turning her head to look at me fully.
"You think so? That could be because when I was growing up I was practically raised by him and my older uncle Paul. They taught me everything I know, so it makes sense if I seem like a variation of them, ya know,"
"It is. I'm sorry about your uncle's death, I know it must've been hard losing another father figure."
"It was but we were expecting it, that man drank and smoked like crazy but despite it all, he was such an articulate man, very polite to people, but he swore like a sailor when we were alone with him. After we found out that he was sick, and had been for years I knew he wouldn't have made it."
"That's sad."
"It's life. I'd like to think that my uncle knew exactly what he was doing to himself. I mean sure everyone did irrational and habitual things like that but not like Paul. He did it worse and as a child, I'd watch him smoke a pack of cigarettes in under a few hours. They'd leave me with him loads of times. I'd watch him do that to himself. As I got older I tried talking him out of it but he would always tell me, "Your advice is good, it shows that you care, but it doesn't mean that I have to listen to it. I was the first one they called when he was in the hospital."
"I'm really sorry," I said squeezing her hand and she squeezed back.
"Don't be, it's all in the past now. All I want is to worry about the future. Worry about me and you,"
"I like the sound of that," I said pulling her in for a kiss as we stopped a few meters away from my apartment building. I ran my lips across hers with a need to taste her desperately. "Seems like we'll be doing us sooner than I think, I already have something in mind."
"Mmm, and what's that?" I retorted, biting her lips and she groaned. Raye pulled me away, grabbing hold of my arm, speedily leading us to my apartment. Once we were inside, barely making it past the door, she started to undress me. Inevitably we tumbled unto the floor due to the pile of clothing that pooled beneath our feet and it's where we spent most of our time. We explored each other's bodies hungrily until both our desires were fulfilled.

She was curled up against me, her nakedness pressing against mine as we laid on top of the covers, spooning. I never knew how comforting and secure having someone you enjoyed lay beside you in the nude could feel. The girls I dated before Raye never liked the simple things she enjoyed but now, something that once was taboo to me felt better than I could've imagined and I craved for it to last forever. I wanted Raye to stay the night with me, it's something I thought about for quite a while. I wanted her to sleep in my bed with me for the first time, so I pitched the idea now that she was already there.
"Stay the night with me?" I whispered after much contemplation. Raye's slender fingers brushed across my curls, so therapeutic but she stopped after a moment. "Are you sure you want that?"
"Why wouldn't I not?"
"I don't know I'm just asking because you know people see, and they talk. If I'm to stay the night some of your neighbours may see me leave in the morning, and although it's a big city, a lot of people know who I am." She answered and I rose my head to stare at her.
"To be honest, I don't give a fuck who sees. A few must've already, but I don't care. I just want my girl to spend the night."
Raye made a cute face, pinching my cheek. "You look so cute when you're irritated."
"I'm not irritated, just passionate about you staying the night."
"Well don't be too passionate, I'll stay the night. I'll stay as long as you want."
"Yay! Thank you so much, my cute little gangsta," I replied and Raye erupted with laughter. It was a sound that I cherished, that and her sweet, sweet moans. I studied her as she gathered her composure. She pushed away a few strands of her hair away from her face and I watched her with my hand propped beneath my chin.
"The way you say the word gangsta always gets to me, it's cute."
"I know it sounds weird. It's not a word I use often."
"I can tell," She rolled over and kissed my forehead.
Later on in the night, with Raye and I confined to the plush folds of my bed, I kept my promise in getting her acquainted with my family and friends as suggested earlier. I showed pictures of my family first, of my mom and dad, and my siblings. She told me that my family was really beautiful and that we each looked nothing like the other which was good to hear. Sometimes it gets annoying having to hear that you resembled someone within your family, and I was grateful that it never happened to me at all.
I went on to show her pictures of my friends and she dropped a huge piece of information I wasn't expecting. "I know this guy," she said sitting up in the bed, taking the phone from my grasp, examining Christopher's face thoroughly.
"Are you sure?"
I was confused, I needed to know how and where she knew him from. "He's part of a gang that tried to stir up trouble with some of my people awhile ago. If I'm correct he goes by the street name dragon."
"What, you can't be serious?"
"I am, I swear. He's very low-key, but I know him," Raye answered and I stared at her in disbelief. I was at a lost for words. It was always a bit baffling to me that he knew so much about what went on among the gangs within the streets, I should've known. How could I have missed something like that?
