It did take some time for my friends and family to get used to Raye whenever she'd go around them, but after awhile it was achieved. My friends were no longer partially hostile towards her, but opened and thoughtful.
Ava had learned to admit the fact that we were meant to be together and it was a good accomplishment.
Mia and Chris continued to be supportive just as before and it was an added feeling of completion. My sister Cassie, however, turned out to be Raye's number one fan among it all along with Trisha in second place.
Sure everybody had loved her but those two just seemed to enjoy her company way more whenever they were in the same room with her and it was nice.I was more than happy to see that they were able to look past what she had made herself out to be to see the real person she was underneath, the person I fell for who'd turned out to be the sweetest girl ever.
My parents were just as pleased to finally see how unbelievably happy I was. No one tried to put me down in any way to make me feel as if my decisions would backfire because they could easily see it wouldn't. Raye made me feel like my world was complete and really it was. I had never been that happy before and I prayed that it would never stop.
Our relationship was getting better each day and I couldn't ask for more.
Raye and I had grown past taking the baby steps and started going big.She and I had decided to go on a vacation together. I had told her that I'd never been to Italy before and she offered to take me. I mentioned it to everyone I knew and they were excited for us to get away together.
My friends, of course, were dramatic about me leaving but I reassured them that I definitely needed to come back.
I had my entire life behind waiting for me, including my job, so staying in Italy wasn't what I had intended because it wasn't my home. However, anywhere Raye was would always be my home because she was what the feeling was about. It's about waking up each day with her by my side no matter the place and being able to feel comfortable and at rest.
The sky could be crashing down and it wouldn't matter to me just as long as I had Raye. She was the one to make me smile even when I didn't want too and make me cry but from joyous tears.
She was my sunshine, my moonlight and everything in between and I was grateful, elated that she loved me just as much as I loved her.The more we were together, the more I realized this was the ending I deserved.
A little over a year ago I felt like I would never be able to be myself again, moving on and living how I should because of how things had transpired.I spent months thinking that it was the end of the world but little did I know what refreshing alternative laid behind. That the very thing that made me hurt was the one and only thing that could cure me, healing my broken heart. This was the happiness I deserved. This was the happiness I couldn't see because I thought for so long that I wasn't meant to be happy, but I lied to myself.
Yet there I was, holding hands with the love of my life as she and I walked through the streets of Venice, Italy.
At that moment everything that had ever happened to me seemed non-existent.It was hard for me to even remember why I was down in the first place because Raye made me such a sunny person again, that I forgot that part of me that was hurting.
The only me that mattered was the one staring at her chestnut brown hair as she tried reaching an apple she thought was meant for me.
That was the person she helped me to become, content and at ease, all because of her.At first, I would've never even guessed that this was how my life would turn out but it did. I got the girl of my dreams and I was happy.
If I had never accomplished anything meaningful before in my life, this was it. Total and utter bliss whenever she was near me. That was the only type of accomplishment that mattered to me, everything else was meaningless in the face of this.
