"Hey, you want to go to that new spot downtown?" Sasha asks.
I look up from the joint I'm rolling in my lap.
"What they got?"
"I don't know girl, I heard something about deep fried oreos so I'm trying to check, that out."
"Well first let's check, this out," I finish rolling and light the joint up.

Once we're properly high, we head to Chomp Stomp. The layout kind of reminds me of a diner, we decide to sit at a booth and scan the menus.
"Ooh, they have corn nuggets!" Sasha squeals.
I've already decided I want the taco sampler. While Sasha continues figuring out what she wants I look around the restaurant. There's an elderly couple in the corner, they aren't speaking to each other, just staring off in different directions.
A woman a couple booths away is sitting opposite someone out of my view. She's looking at them intently, nodding here and there.
I drift into a daydream of what the two may be talking about. When a familiar voice grabs my attention. I turn toward the entrance and my heart drops when I see my sister, and Adeen hand in hand.
I watch as they sit at a table near a window.
The words rush from my mouth, "no shit!"
Sasha jumps, startled. She looks at me, then looks around, scouting the area.
She looks back at me, "girl what's wrong?"
I want to charge right over there, I want to scream in his face and push my sister to the floor.
Instead I just look at Sasha with a scowl and speak through gritted teeth.
"That asshole and my sister are here."
I nod in the direction of them and Sasha looks that way.
She shakes her head, "he know he is fine."
I smack my teeth, "bitch that ain't helpful!"
She makes a face, "damn, you right..."
I'm almost fuming when our waiter shows up.
"Hello, my name's Hunter, I'll be helping ya'll out today. What can I get yall to drink?"
Sasha and I both say sweet tea in unison. Then I order the tacos and she orders a brisket sandwich, corn nuggets, and deep fried oreos.
The waiter disappears and we go back to peering at their table. Then Adeen stands up and walks towards us. We both gasp and Sasha turns to face me. We try to look natural, staring at each other, frozen.
He walks past our table, stops an employee.
"Excuse me, where are your restrooms?"
She points him in the direction and I watch him disappear behind a corner.
I stare after him then sigh because Sasha's giving me a look.
"What?" I ask defensively.
"I ain't say a word," she replies.
I exhale deeply and look down at the table.
"Imma go over and talk to him."
"You think that's a good idea?" She asks.
I shrug, then look over where Tiana sits.
She's slightly hunched over, elbow propped on the table and her head rests on the palm of her hand. In her other hand is her phone. She appears sober for once, hm, for now anyway.
