Adeen
I know it's wrong of me, but I can't help it. Since that night we drank together, I can't stay away from Malina.
It wouldn't be so bad if Tiana, didnt seem like she was getting so out of control. I keep trying to dissuade her from partying so much and she fights me, I don't want to fight, so I leave her be. Now I find myself wanting to be distracted by Malina and the more I tell myself I shouldnt, the more I want her.
For the last week and a half since the movie night, I've been taking Malina out because neither of us want to sit at the house waiting for Tiana to belligerently burst through the door.
The look in Malina's eye when Tiana came home that night. The night our lips brushed against each other, I couldn't read it. Looking past the drunk haze she possessed, I could tell she was feeling something that she was trying to hide. I just wish I could pinpoint it.
One afternoon Tiana mentioned in passing, she was annoyed because Malina's birthday is coming up. I didn't understand why that would annoy her, but then again I don't understand much about my wife these days.
Malina sits to my left scratching her pencil to her paper solving math equations.
"When is your birthday?"
I watch a look of confusion then realization touch her face.
"Oh shit! My birthday's in two weeks I didnt even realize."
Then she gasps and shoots her eyes to me, "I'm sorry it slipped."
I try to keep a scowl on my face but a smile slips on anyway.
"Uh, why do you ask?" She hesitates.
Why did I ask?
I shrug and pick up my coffee mug, "just wondering if you had anything planned."
She shakes her head, mentions a girl named Sasha, goes back to scribbling. I throw out a thought that comes to mind.
"Maybe you'd like to go to dinner that night?"
She looks at me with those doe eyes, and I start scrambling for words.
"I- uh, you're friend can join er- if you want, I'll let Tiana know an- and we'll do something real nice, make a real good night of it."
She smiles and I wish I could just lean in and kiss her.
God I have to get these thoughts in line. It's unacceptable.
"I'd really like that, thank you Adeen."
I look away and take a long blink, the way she says my name... Mm, that may cause an issue later, I like it too much.
"I'm glad, what day is it specifically? I need to go ahead and make the reservations now."
"March 3rd."
I nod, inform her of my reasturant scouting and excuse myself to the bedroom so I don't have to conceal my budding hard-on any longer.
Malina
Adeen woke me up today with quite a bit of cash and sent me off to the mall.
He told me that I needed to get birthday clothes.
"I'm no good at shopping," he said. "So you go ahead and get yourself some stuff you actually will like for the dinner."
I didn't even want to touch the money at first it was such a fat wad of the whole money family tree.
I called up Sasha. She picked me up and after she flew off the handles about the house being gated off, freaking out about how huge the house is, we finally got to the mall.
