Malina

"It feels so good to not have to fight it anymore!" I exclaim. "I don't have to pretend that I don't want to fuck him, I just do."

Sasha and I met up at the park. Yes, met up. Once Tiana's car got out of the detailing shop after her accident, it was just sitting in the garage, tank full of gas and calling my name.

I was finally able to convince Adeen to let me drive it a couple days ago. That is, after he rode as passenger of course, making sure I was an actual safe driver, which I am.

I never really got the chance to drive except when I lived with the Vaulf's. Their daughter, Georgia took me to the DMV to get my license. She hated her parents and rarely stuck around the house for long. When she would come by she'd always let me drive her car. She was cool I guess, except when she started geeking off of too much coke.

"Please tell me it's good," Sasha gives me an expecting look.

"Bruh, he is hands down, the best man I've ever laid with."

"Even better than Dwayne? Cuz that nigga had you sleepin' over and all- Shit I said it again, damn it, why!?'

My heart drops at the mention of his name. Sasha's too distracted by her slip up to notice my demeanor change.

Thankfully so, I try to perk back up before she notices.

I haven't seen Dwayne since Adeen almost choked him out... He has texted here and there, but I never know what to say, all I can think to reply with is, 'sorry I fucked up, we were a mistake.'

"Have you seen Dwayne lately?" I ask, maintaining an even voice.

I feel her eyes on me, see her nod in my peripheral.

"Little bit, but I've been making Terrence take me out instead of chillin at his house so I don't go over as much."

I nod slowly, "true..."

She takes a breath, looks down at her feet in the grass, "he asks about you."

That sends a pang through my chest, I don't look at her though.

"Yeah?"

"Mhm... Mostly just asking if I've heard from you, if you're doing okay."

I only nod.

"He asked about Adeen."

I finally look at her, concern faint on my face.

"What'd he wanna know?"

"He asked if Adeen ever got rough with you... I said no but-" Sasha looks at me full on. "Has he?"

I meet eyes with her maybe too quickly and shake my head no.

"No, he'd never hurt me."

Sasha studies my face. I know my shaky eye contact will give me away, so I look up towards the sound of birds squawking.

"Did something happen between Adeen and Dwayne? Because Dwayne got really pissed when he started talking about him."

I groan, shaking my head.

"I- I made a very shitty and stupid mistake of inviting Dwayne over to the house."

"And?" Sasha prys.

I close my eyes, the scene in my bedroom replays in my head clearly.

"Dwayne and I started fooling around... Adeen came home, saw us together and he just lost it."

I feel my bestfriend shifting anxiously next to me.

"Did he hit you?"

"No! But he did choke the shit out of Dwayne."
