"How'd ya'll like dinner?"

"Really good," I say. "And that garlic butter you made, on point."

Adeen smiles, "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

We both look over at my sister who looks like she's about to vomit.

"You okay Tiana?" Adeen asks.

She looks up from the table, rubbing her stomach and sheepishly smiles.

"Yeah," she says tiredly. "I probably shouldn't have eaten so fast, I'm about to burst. Guess that's what happens after not eating any real food in two months."

Adeen chuckles and rises from the table, collecting the dishes.

"Why don't you head over to the room, take a nice shower and get in bed?"

She whines, "will you come to bed soon? I want you to hold me."

I watch as Adeen's eyes enlargen and his adam's apple wiggle as he swallows.

"Mhm," he answers quietly.

I now look down at the table, ready to excuse myself when Tiana stands up.

"Okay, I'll see you soon baby," she walks out of the dining room, down the hall to the room their sharing.

I start gnawing at the inside of my cheek, keeping quiet as Adeen moves around cleaning.

"When I'm finished, would you like to walk on the beach with me?"

I perk up like a puppy about to play fetch.

"Yeah, but what about Tee?"

His back is to me, I watch him shrug, "she'll be asleep as soon as she lays down, don't worry about it."

"Okay," I say, "I'll get my jacket and come back down."

Adeen

Malina's soft hand in mine, her jacket sleeve brushing up against my arm, her light laughter it all puts me at ease. As our feet sink with every step across the sand, I come to realize that I've really missed being alone with her these last few days.

I love this girl more than I could ever imagine and I'm in deep trouble for it.

"I've never been on the beach at night before," Malina says. "It's beautiful."

I look at how the moonlight glints in her eyes, she's perfection.

"Not as beautiful as you," I reply.

She giggles a little bit and rolls her eyes.

"Yeah, cheesy I know," I laugh, "doesn't make it any less true."

She shakes her head, smile still on her face.

"You're too much," she says.

After some time we approach a palm tree that has grown at a slope. It starts straight up from the ground then cuts left for a ways and continues up the rest of the way growing palm leaves at the top.

"Looks like the perfect place to sit huh?" I suggest.

Malina approaches the tree and I see she's too short to get up there on her own.

I place both hands around her waist and hoist her up on to the tree. I decide not to get up there myself, who knows how much weight this branch could hold. Instead I stand in front of Malina, between her knees and wrap my arms around her waist, she sits maybe a couple inches taller than me.

"Thank you for the ring," she lilts. "I almost cried reading your letter."

A smile touches my lips, "I meant every word... You're far too precious for me to lose. I'd do anything for you. I would kill for you if I had to."

I realize I may be coming off as sinister so I take a breath before continuing on.

"I just want to give you the world and I'll do whatever I have to in order to do just that... And I can't wait for the day that I get to replace that promise ring on your hand with a wedding ring."

Malina throws her arms around my neck and pulls me close into a hug.

"I love you so much," she hums into my chest.

I press a kiss against her forehead, she lifts her face to look at me and I kiss her lips. Her hands slide up the back of my neck to run over my hair while we taste each other's tongues.

Soft moans leave her as my hands slip under her jacket and shirt. I feel that she isn't wearing a bra and I cup a hand around her breasts.

"Your skin is so soft and warm," I say.

She replies with a kiss and a lick along my neck. A shiver runs up my spine and I have a mind to pull her down from this tree and make sweet love to her right here in the sand. That is, until a group of drunk guys come strolling down the beach, sloshing around in the crashing waves.

Their whistles and hooting is what grabs our attention. Malina looks up and turns around peering at the group, but I keep my face burrowed into her neck.

I know if I were to acknowledge them, I'd only get pissed off, possibly starting a fight and ruin our time together.

"Must be graduates," I murmur.

She sighs looking back at me, "yeah, let's get back inside."

I sit up, "are you sure? They'll meander off eventually if we ignore them."

I honestly just don't want our time to end just yet.

She nods at me, "I'm sure. Besides, who knows how long we've been out here, don't want Tiana getting suspicious."

I hold in a groan and sigh, "you're right."

I turn around facing away from her and the drunkards and position for her to get on my back.

"Serious?" She asks hesitantly.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I respond.

She wraps her arms around my neck and legs around my waist. I grab her thighs greedily and hike her onto my back to be better positioned.

The walk back, I take my time, I can't stand to think that when we return I'll be lying next to Tiana and not Malina.

I've got to get the ball rolling on this whole situation. I can't stand it anymore...

Much to my dismay, we get to the deck and back sliding glass door in no time. I let Malina down to her feet but before we go in, I grab her and kiss her hard.

"Whatever you do," I whisper, "just don't stop believing in me."

She shakes her head, "never," she whispers back.

We share one final kiss and touch then quietly we step back inside, I watch her disappear up the stairs and I begrudgingly make my way to the bedroom Tiana's in.
