So yeah, 'hanging' out with my sister the other day was a bust.

She drove me to the Vaulf's. When we pulled up she told me I had to go in alone because she didn't feel like meeting them. So that made what would have probably been two-ish trips with two people instead be five trips with just me.

I didn't bother picking up the trash lying about, they were trash rats anyway.

I parted with a friendly goodbye attached with, 'you were assholes,'and slammed the door shut.

After we went to an outlet with a ton of stores. I think I only got as much as I did because Tiana liked how the weight of designer bags felt on her arms.

When we got home she halphazardy parked the car, unlocked the front door and ducked back into her car. She sent me inside with all but two bags and peeled off without a goodbye.

I grumbled my way inside, up the stairs and dropped the bags at my feet.

Here I sit now at the island table in the kitchen waiting for Tiana to take me to school, fuming. Normally I wouldn't care about school, but I do have enough sense not to get in trouble with the law.

I just know Mr. Jones is waiting to call about my attendance.

I growl looking at the clock on the wall, 8:15. Deciding I've waited long enough, I hop from the chair and stomp my way to the other side of the house.

Down the long hallway is glass walls on either side, light beams in warming my skin as I walk through.

I halt when I enter another living room, it's even bigger over here. There's even a projector playing on the wall.

Finding the nearest closed door I hurry to it and tap three quick knocks on the door.

I don't get an answer so I let myself in. To my surprise Adeen is on the other side of the door pulling on a shirt.

Stunned by the view I stop short, bumbling like an idiot. I may as well be drooling, and then I'm caught.

Adeen notices me there and instantly tenses up, instead of standing there I leave the room and awkwardly wait for him or something to happen.

A few moments pass when the door slowly draws inward and Adeen steps out.

He sighs when he sees I havent left, "what did you want?" He asks bluntly.

His sharp tone rubs me the wrong way but I try to ignore it.

I reply, "Tiana was supposed to take me to school today."

He starts to walk away from me, "she didn't come home last night."

Who the fuck's surprised!? Me I guess, just a little!

"What!? I need to get to school, I ask her for- for one actual thing and sh-"

Adeen's expression is hard to read, "what about the bus?"

"The bus doesn't run up these mountains, they only go through the city."

Adeen shakes his head obviously annoyed and mutters something at me before he disappears into another room.

I stand there antsily for a little, the pressure of time weighing heavy on me.

I'm about to intrude and charge into the room when he walks out now wearing shoes and a plain black hat.

"Let's go," he announces huskily.

I quickly follow him through the house and into his car parked in the garage, the latest updated Jeep.

It's difficult to climb into and Adeen grows impatient, mumbles something about a step-stool.

I cant think of a good enough insult about people who drive jeeps, so I keep quiet.

The drive is extra long and extra quiet. Adeen flipped through stations and lands on traffic and news report.

It takes everything in me to stay awake, toward the end I'm no longer successful and doze off.

I jump awake when Adeen gives my thigh a light squeeze.

"We're here," he announces.

I sit up and wipe the grogginess from my eyes and unclip my seatbelt.

"Thanks for the ride," I say feeling embarrassed.

He only looks straight ahead saying nothing. I roll my eyes and yank on the door handle letting myself out. I'm about to slam it shut when Adeen waves a hand in my direction.

"You call me if you need a ride home," he says.

I blink at him, how was I supposed to call?

"Put my number in your phone," he points a finger in the direction of my backpack.

"I- I don't have a phone," I stammer trying not to be smoldered under his eyes.

That agitated expression crosses his face again, "serious?" He sighs again, "what, you get out about about two?"

I nod, he nods back and leans towards me, "be back in this spot, if you aren't here by 2:40  I'm leaving and assuming you've gotten picked up."

He's so direct when he talks, so fucking unnecessarily intense.

"Got it, thanks," I say.

He nods and sits back up in his seat, I slam the door shut and walk into the office of my new school.
