Thorin:

Thorin left you in tears when he first confessed his love to you. It was the day he was leaving to reclaim the lonely mountain. The sun was just peaking over the horizon, the crows squawking as they argued over breakfast.

You had risen early to see him off, knowing it may be the last time you did. You helped him put the heavy luggage on his shoulders, both of your barely speaking. When he was about to leave, he looked you deep in the eyes and said, "I love you, (y/n)."

It was very unexpected by you, but you returned the three words nevertheless. You hugged him as you sobbed tears of grief. He promised that once he was king, he would come back and bring you to the mountain where he would court you and treat like a queen.

You wished he could only hold that promise.

Thranduil:

It was in the Battle of the Five Armies. You were one of the common soldiers in Mirkwood's army. In the midst of fighting, you had received a stab in the shoulder from an orc. You were left to bleed out of conscious alone on the battlefield.

You didn't expect to wake up, but when you did, your king was sitting next to you, watching you with worried blue eyes. You were so confused of what was happening. Thranduil explained that he had carried you off the battlefield and to the healers as soon as he found you. You were flattered that none other than the king saved your life. What he said next surprised you even more.

"I've been watching you, Lady (y/n)," the handsome king explained. "And while I did not have the courage to talk to you, I must admit I've grown rather fond of you. You are a beauty of great strength and courage. After seeing you on the verge of death, I realized the truth hidden in the depths of my heart: I love you."

Boromir:

He was very drunk that night. You were helping him to his chambers, supporting his stand with an arm wrapped under his own. He was singing and laughing about slurred things you couldn't make out. When you finally got him into his bed and began to leave, he called you back and said the three words with so much sincerity, it was hard to believe he wasn't sober.

The next morning in the kitchens, he worriedly asked what embarrassing things he had said or done while under so much alcohol the night before. You listed the the petty things first, like playing with an elf's hair and showering his little brother with ale.

"You said you loved me," you said finally, avoiding his eyes by cutting the vegetables in front of you.

Boromir sighed and leaned on the counter, rubbing his temples as if to ease his terrible hangover. "Well," he said simply, "That's not how I planned to confess."

"What do you mean?" you asked, meeting his eyes.

He inhaled deeply. "Though drunk, I meant what I said. I love you, (y/n)."

Fili:

You were twenty years old, only a mere preteen in dwarven years. Fili was one year older than you. Little Kili was only sixteen, and followed his brother around like he was his master.

One day, Kili came up to you and asked rather bluntly if you fancied the golden haired prince. You blushed and said, "I guess so." Kili smiled and skipped away, leaving you confused with butterflies in your stomach.

Later that day, Kili came back to you with a folded letter in his hands. He said it was from Fili and shoved it in your hands, giddy with childish excitement. Once he was gone, you began to read. A lot of the words were misspelled and the handwriting wasn't exactly the best, but the note was still the best you'd ever received.

(Y/n),

Kili said you liked me. He semed very sure of himself. Is it true?

If it is, I like you, too. You are very beaotiful and I always get exsited when your around. I think I love you. Do you love me?

-Fili Durin

You took your quill and ink and wrote on the back of the paper, saying that you loved Fili and that the two of you should go steal treats from the bakery sometime. Unsurprisingly, you saw Kili peeking his head around the corner, observing your reaction. You called him back and ordered him to deliver the letter back to Fili.

Thus began a long lasting love.

I might do a part three later, but I hope you enjoyed this one for now.
