I had created a barrier to shield us but I could hold it for much longer. “3..2..NOW!”
I dropped the barrier. Angel ran up to him as if to hit him but at the last second she flew up, and I ran in. I was able to convert all my energy in my hands. I was able to punch him multiple times. Until he blasted me with ice. My feet were froze to the ground and my hands had layer on top of layer of ice on them.
“Man I really hate Hunter, but right about now would be a good time for her to show up out of nowhere like she always does!”
As the boy approached me, Angel came down and kicked him hard to the concret. The boy desperately fought back as Angel lifted him to the skies. She talked into the earpiece.
“What am I supposed to do with him?!”
As she said that Emmy and Madison ran over. Madison used her sonic scream to free me from the freezing cold ice. It literally just shattered.
“Scarlet, whats something that gets people distracted easily, in a the worst way possible?”
“Fear.”
“Wait bring the boy down here Angel.”
“Uhhh... .Maddie what our you doing?”
Then a pino showed up out of know were. Angel brought the boy down who was still struggling desperately. Then Maddie started to play the pino. I immediately recognized what she was doing.
“Hey Scarlet, let’s go swimming!” Said my best friend.
“Mommy can I go with her?!”
“Of course honey.”
(Later that day) “I don’t want this for our daughter! Why can’t the gem be passed down somewhere else!”
“I know this isn't what you want Amanda, I don’t want it either but if she doesn't get it by tonight bad things will happen.”
“Bad things will happen either way!”
“Mommy why are you crying?” I asked.
(The next day)“How are we going to tell her?”
“Honey if we would have just gave her the necklace, if you did this wouldn't have happened.”
“NO, I won't do it! Remember what happened to jenny.”
“Mommy can I go play with my bestie?”
“Umm..Scarlet,I’m sorry but she passed last night, she got really sick….”
“Noooo,NO!!”
I could feel hot tears rolling down my cheeks.
(The following day) “Why do I have to leave mom?”
“We love you ok?”
“Will I ever see you again?”
“No, but remember were out they're.”
This curse made me leave my family behind. I had a cousin Jenny, I always said she was my best friend. But because of that stupid necklace she died. I lost everything I cared about. I was sent away at age nine to live by myself. And I don't even have a picture of them. All I can remember is the bad memories. The pain and the hurt of that necklace has brought me. Jenny, She didn’t deserve it. She didn’t do anything. If I fell she was the one to help me up. If I cried she made me feel better.
“STOP!” I screamed in pain.
Finally it was over. Everyone had tears in their eyes. But the boy was shaking frantickey as if he was going to die.
“Grab his arms and legs I’m going to try to break whatever control She has on him. Okay here goes nothing…kaerb lortnoc revo mih lla sniahc llahs kaerb nopu mih! Zintohes!”
“Listen kid Hunter, or flame girl has nothing to do with whatever your thinking. I’ll show you.”
When I first meet Hunter when we were fighting she let her guard down, and I able to scan her memories. So right now I was showing her memories to the boy. Now I spoke to him in his head.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“Yes…..tell your friend sorry about the misshapen, I should probably just go home and we can continue this tomorrow.”
“Okay, listen guys this was all a misunderstanding we will continue this tomorrows but for now help me take him home.”
“And where does he live?” Asked Angel.
“I live at the-Oh no they're going to kill me!” He panicked.
“Who?!”
“Short story short, I live at an orphanage and the people in charge hate me! They've made me stay in the isolation room for weeks! I gotta go!”
Max started to run but fell flat on his face.
“Are you okay?” I asked.
“Uhhh..Nooo, no,no! Why?!”
I used my powers and was able to X-ray his leg.
“You have a fractured ankle. But since we have these, I held my necklace, you should heal in an hour or so.”
“Do you know how much trouble I’m going to be in?!” He said with fear in his eyes. “Hey Trace you wanna help us out with this?” I spoke into the earpiece.
“I will deal with this, for the meantime all of you shall all stay at H.Q.”
“Well looks like we're walking, cause I’m not doing the teleporting thing again, my power could be out for days!”
“Fine, but I’m flying they're!” Angel says in angry tone. Just then Max collapsed on the floor.
“Max what’s going on?” I asked.
“T-taking..c..control”
