As we went down the hach Madison started screaming so loud I thought my ears would bleed! Then we hit the soft cushions.
“Was that soooooo bad?” I say in a mocking voice.
“Sorry you had to go through that Miss.Taylor but there's a lot we need to talk about.”
That was Tracey, she’s the one who found us before we got our powers and taught us how to control them.
“H-how do you know my name?” Asked Maddie in a shaken voice.
“Why, I know much about you like how your parents are away on a business trip, as always, or how you were gifted with the purple gem? Or the headphones were a gift from you grandma. No?”
“Yes but umm..?”
“Okay listen kid, I say, Emmy has the green gem, passed down from generations as a peace treaty. It resembles animals, plants and hope. I have the red Gem given as a blessing passed down through my family. I was the only one able to harness its power because it was said to choose a worthy leader. And you have the Purple gem also given as a gift and you have the ability that must have something to do with your voice, like singing. Or something like that….”
“Right, so what's that thing over there?” Says Maddie.
“That’s what's going to help us find the others, okay insert your gem in the keyhole. Now push it down.”
At that moment all the lights in the room shut off and the table like stone structure glowed as it spoke
“You are the first ones able the to unlock this, you are granted to know about the next gem. The black gem was given as a curse long ago because of a family's selfishness and pride. It was truly a wicked sight. This gem allowed it’s keeper to absorb fear and hate and transfer that into a power source. He/She can either be crushed by the darkness that lives inside them or conquer it and become superior than whats keeps you up at night.”
“Okayyyyyy, well that’s a new one-”
“The second verse of the prophecy states that once the gems have found a suibel keeper all the gems will find their way together.”
“Thank you for interrupting me Tracey, but anyway so do you guys think we will find the black gem at school, because that's where we found Maddison?”
“Hmm….maybe what do you think Maddie?” Says Emmy.
“Before we finish this conversation will you mind telling me your names cause I still don’t know them...sorry.”
“Oh right well I’m Hunter and Cat-girl over they're is Emmy……her appearance may be a little um odd.” I whispered in Maddie’s ear well Emmy was hacking something. To be honest sometimes I felt bad for Emmy. I remember the day I met her.
“Hey take a look at that freak show!”
“HAHAHAHA”
“What a loser.”
“She doesn't even have any friends nor will she ever!”
“HAHAHA”
We were Just in first grade when kids said those things to Emmy, well that’s what the ‘Popular kids’ said anway. And I was one of them but instead of being the total jerks like they were I left them and gave the freak girl a tissue and told the kids who were laughing they were total jerks. Of course I got sent to the principal's office but it was totally worth it. I’d never seen Emmy smile until that day. I was her first friend and the best part was those jerk girls never dared pick on emmy again! Besides Emmy ears and tail she also has two different colored eyes one blue and the other green, her canines our rather on the sharp side but it’s not that noticeable.Emmy still get comments occasionally but rarely. I think it was because of the time I kicked this jock where it really hurts. If anyone dares challenge me I’ll go but they better be ready to lose. To keep her secret hidden she wears hat and tries to keep her tail tucked into her pants. Me and Emmy go way back and nothing could ever break our bond.
