“What do you want me to do again?” I ask Tracey.
“I want you to stay here. Now, I have to go run some errands but I’ll be back later, just keep a eye on him.”
“I don’t need a babysitter.”
“No, you need a security guard.” She smirked and walked away.
What am I going to do for the time being? Maybe I could read about the Protectors or…..what about this? I picked up the book we’d found in Tom backpack. I flipped through and found a chapter about the three Z Crystals. What is a Z Crystal?
I must have thought out loud. “You don’t know what the Z Crystals are? Your a Keeper and you don’t know what a Z Crystal is?!”
“No….what is it?”
“It's the-wait, whats today?”His face was pressed up to the bars, he looked worried.
“Tuesday, April the 13th. Why?”
“You have to get me out of here!”
“No way! Are you kidding me! You think I’m gonna let you out? You almost killed Emmy, not to mention I’ve seen all the horror movies. It never ends well when the person lets the psychopath go.” I shivered at the thought.
“You don’t understand! I know where the crystals are, we need to get them. Now! Before Kitsune does! Unless, you know, you just let her get her hands on it. The world as we know it will end, you wouldn’t want to disappoint your family. They died to save you, don’t let they're deaths be in vain.”
“How am I supposed to believe yo-Wait! How’d you know about my….what?” I’m way past confused, how does he know about my family? Know one besides Hunter and I know that. How?? Wha? AGHHH, why does everyone keep playing that card, always bringing up my family. Now I kinda have to help him.
“I have my ways. But listen, I can prove it.”
“Okay, prove it.”
“In my backpack grab the thing that looks like a GPS.”
“Okay now what?”
“Turn it on.”
“How do I know it’s not a bomb or something?”
“You’ll just have to trust me.”
“Pfft, trust you?” His face was dead serious.
That was the last thing I wanted to do. But if he’s telling the truth we can’t have Kitsune get it, who knows what kind of weapon she can use it for. So I guess there's only one choice, trust him. I pushed the on button, it lit up. It looked like he marked the previous places it's teleported. Now the GPS shows where it will teleport next before it gets they're. Which made me wonder how much time we had before that happens?
“Whats it say in the bottom corner?” I looked to the bottom, they're was some kind of timer.
“Ten-fifty, why?”
“Because, we have less then ten minutes before it teleports again. It’s now or never, so make up your mind! Do you trust me?” The answer should definitely be no, but in this case what choice do I have?
“Okay, let's go!” I really, really hope I made the right decision! If not all those horror movies are about to become my reality.
I pressed a button on the wall that opened his cell, “Which way?” He asked.
I looked down and followed the coordinates with my eyes, It looks like an ally in a ghost town.
“Looks like were going to Deadwood.” I says as memoirs creep into my mind.
