Lucky us, today in Science were learning about fire. None of us have this period together so if this keeper is afraid of fire then we caught our guy! Truth be told I didn’t think this would work but it was worth a shot.
“Today is class we will be learning the science behind fire and why when I do this”, the teacher licked his finger put it on the flame of a candle stick, it doesn’t hurt.”
As the fire burned out it just sat there and sizzled.
“Today each of you will participate in this activity.”
A girl raised her hand, “Will it burn us if we do it wrong?” she asked fidgeting her hands nervously.
“Well Let’s just hope we don’t have to find out.”
The girl sat down with a glimmer of fear in her eyes.
“Okay you will need to find a partner and then we’ll begin our research, now is there any more questions?”
A boy raised his hand, “Umm..may I use the restroom?”
“No, I’m sorry Max but you'll have to hold it. Listen class there is no reason to be anxious about this! Now make eye contact with your partner. After you get your candle go meet your partner and start you work.”
Suddenly it was almost if there was a breeze itself in the classroom.
Is it just me or did it just get colder in here?
All of a sudden the fire sprinklers went off and people started panicking.
The teacher told us to head out of the classroom. The boy who asked to use the bathroom was heading for the school doors. He literally just left!
“Mr.Andrews I’m going to the nurse I’m going to vom-”, I ran to the nearest trash can a pretended to vomit then headed to the nurse office. Once out of sight I ran to the girls bathroom and used my earpiece.
“Guys, I think I found our guy now meet me outside the school gates!”
At last the other were here.
“All I know is his name is Max and he went that way!”
“Well what our we waiting for let's go!”
“WAIT” Yelled Scarlet, “How should we approach him? As school girls or as Keepers?”
“Hmmm…..” Thought Emmy.
“Well I say as Keepers.”
“And who said you decide?” She snapped back at me.
“Emmy?!.......Madison?!”
We both spat at the same time.
After debating for what felt like an eternity the only thing we could agree on is flipping a coin. We were going to approach the boy as Keepers. When we saw the boy he saw us. His eyes glistened with tears as looked down at his hands. His eyes were the lightest blue I’ve ever seen.
“Listen were like you, we can help you. We both know you've lost control.”
I turned to my friends as if to signal ‘show him’. At that moment we all showed our power. Emmy was letting her ears show and her tail whip free well she made vines and flowers of all kind pop up through the cracks and crevices of the cement. Madison was blasting her music somehow through her gem. Scarlet was levitating above the ground with something like Black flames outlined in white in her hands and eyes. The boy seemed amazed and reassured.
“See were like you, we understand.”
That’s when I let my powers burn though. My flames were brighter than ever. The tears that glistened in his eyes now became rivers. It seemed as if letting him see my powers scared him.
“You...y-your..the.one..who did it.” He said as his lip quivered. I fell to my knees as I felt a stab to my side.
