Gilbert's POV

I was sniffling when I heard a knock on the door.

"W-Who is it?" I asked as I slowly prayed that it was Anne.

"Jerry...Can I come in?" But, I knew it was for the best that it wasn't.

I nodded, but then I remembered that he couldn't see me so I said.

"Sure..."

Then, Jerry slowly opened the door.

"Is everything okay?"

"I'm done Jerry. I can't keep running after her. I'm tired." I said as I put my head in my hands and started to cry again.

Jerry came and sat down next to me, hugging me.

"You love her..."

"As a friend."

"Gilbert you are lying to yourself." said Jerry as he let go of the hug and gave me a serious look.

I stood up, frustrated.

"What am I supposed to do, Jerry? Huh? Just keep on running after her?"

"First admit it." said Jerry, calmly.

"What?" I asked, more annoyed by the second.

"That you love her. Not as a sister or a friend or even a best friend. You love her like a man loves a woman he wants to marry. You need her because you love her. Even though, you are tired of this whole situation. You still love her. Even though you fight. You always make sure she is safe. Because, you love her. For once, stop lying to yourself and face your feelings. " said Jerry as he stood up and approached me.

"She is your life mate." He whispered and he put a comforting hand on my shoulder.

That's when I remembered her and me. From the very beginning. It was the two of us.
