Chapter 3: A Cup Of Cappuccino
Tatlo sa empleyado ay lalaki habang ang mga customer ay mga babae na.
"What is your name Sir?" wika ko sabay turo sa lalaki na nasa kaliwa ni Miss Jenny.
"I am Marcus."
"Mmmm. So, how many hours do you work here every day?"
"8 hours starting from 12 pm."
I nodded and face the other guy who is now sitting in front of the cashier's table not too far away from the victim. And he looks so calm.
"The same questions Sir." panimula ko.
He stares at me with his blue eyes.
"Prince. It was also 8 hours but I started at 1 pm."
"Thank you."
Bumaling ako sa huling lalaki at akmang magsasalita na sana nang naunahan niya ako.
"I'm Jam. It's 10 hours and I started work from 8 am to 12 and resumes from 1 until 7 pm."
"I see. Thank you for the information."
In my peripheral view ay lumapit sa akin si Ki.
"It seems we have the same suspect," I stated.
"What do you think? Why would he do that? Can he be the suspect before that Miss Jenny is supposed to lend her help?"
Napahawak ako sa pagitan ng aking labi at ilong.
"If he is the suspect who was responsible for Lorie's case, then why the two did not recognize him?" I asked anxiously.
I don't think my guts and deduction were really good enough to catch the suspect.
He smiled devilishly as if he won a game. That's it! Ki was really a good one.
"Remembered what I had discovered a while ago? I said that Miss Jenny helped the suspect, but it doesn't mean she saw the suspect's face. She was about to help the guy, but she discovered that it was the one who Miss Martina preferred with to Lorie's case."
My eyes widened. I am really amazed at how Ki talks about his deductions. He is really good. Nah, he might felt happiness now dahil pinupuri ko na siya sa isip ko.
He smiled again. Teasingly.
"Based on my subconscious mind, you are definitely thinking about my deduction right, Duri?"
I rolled my eyes. Di bale ng isipin niyang bakla ako, I just can't accept the truth that why Selene has a brother like him.
"It's okay. You are free to praise me with your flowering words in your mind."
Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin.
"You're imagining–
"Hey! So, alam niyo na ang killer?"
Sabay kaming napalingon kay Jun na nakaupo sa swivel chair sa unang counter ng store dito. He looks so excited though he was just sitting. Sabay naman namin siyang sinamaan ng tingin.
"Bakit Jun? Wala ka bang masasabi?" wika ko.
Tumawa ito kaya napalingon ang lahat sa kanya.
