Chapter 34: Reminiscene
"Delta, I really want to be free like a bird flying in the sky."
"We are all free Charlie. Why are you saying like that?"
"No Delta, not all are free because some of them were still locked in sorrowness and loneliness."
"So you are locked in loneliness."
"No am not. It's the other way around."
"What is it?"
"You don't need to know Delta, so you can live happily and freely."
Nanatili akong nakatingin kay Charlie kasama si Iris na nakaupo sa bench rito sa rooftop. I am very happy to Charlie's freedom. I can't stop the happiness and excitement inside me.
Napalingon naman silang dalawa sa akin.
"Duri!" nakangiting usad ni Iris.
Napangiti naman ako sabay lakad papunta sa kanila.
"How's your day?" ani ni Charlie.
"Am fine."
"So what's your plan? When will you go back in Philippines?"
Napahawak naman ako ng mahigpit sa aking bulsa.
"I don't know. Maybe next month."
Napakunot noo naman siya maging si Iris.
"What? You want us to spend our 1 whole month here in Germany? I can't wait to visit your country." wika ni Iris.
Napailing naman ako.
"You can visit there if you want. I just don't have some interest to go back there when I just can't still leave my self here."
"Nah, I don't think so we can visit there without you."
Hindi ko na lang pinansin si Iris at dumako ang aking tingin kay Charlie.
"It's been a long time since we talked normally." turan ko sabay upo sa tabi niya.
"All right, I should leave you two. You know, brother's talk. Charlie, I'll be waiting in our room."
Napatango naman si Charlie kay Iris bago ito lumingon sa akin.
"Yeah, you're right Delta. How does it feel brother?"
Napangiti naman ako.
"It's like a medicine. If only your parents–
"Our parents Delta. You should not forget that."
"Yeah, yeah."
"Tsk. Alam mo parang ikaw pa rin yong Delta na kilala ko noon. It is hard for you to show your feelings."
I smiled awkwardly.
"Really? Ano ba ako noon Charlie?"
"You are really trying me to narrate about your childhood memories huh?"
"Sort of."
"Well, you were a crying baby."
Tinignan ko naman siya ng masama.
