Chapter 31: No retreat
Whether we will stop seeking for the answers of our undying questions, just to fill our inquisitiveness and to be contented of what we are trying to do, or not stopping it maybe, we can't escape on how these cruel people will show us the reality. We can't escape from reality though sometimes we are putting ourselves in our own bizzare fantasy.
Napatingin naman ako sa taong may hawak ng isang axe at isang M16. What the heck?! Nakasuot ito ng itim na pantalon at itim na long sleeve habang may suot na n95 sa kanyang bibig. Who's that girl?
Napadako naman ang aking tingin sa dalawang bodyguard na may saksak sa mga likod nito. The heck?!
Nagkatinginan naman kami ni Charlie.
"Do you know her?" tanong ko sa kanya pero nagkibit-balikat lamang ito.
Pero agad ko namang itinuro ang baril sa kanya nang itinutok niya ang kanyang baril sa amin.
"Who are you?" tanong ko.
Tinanggal naman niya ang kanyang n95 at laking gulat ko na lang nang tuluyan kong nakita ang kanyang mukha.
"Iris?"
"What the heck?"
Sabay naming tanong ni Charlie.
"You know that this cathedral took 632 years of construction?"
"I love roses. Wanna some?"
"I don't like rose except this one rose I know."
"You don't like a flower like rose, but you like this one rose you know? Does it have a deep meaning?"
"The rose that I am talking about was a special person."
"I'm Iris Wilson, and you are?"
"Duri Meyer."
"Iris is coming to get Savannah."
"It was her, right?"
"Anong it was her, Duri? Did you know who is this Iris they are talking about?"
"I met–
"He met that Iris in Cologne Cathedral. You know when I saw her, I really have a bad feeling and it turns out that I am right."
"Why are you here Iris? I thought you are with Lupin and Marcus?"
Napakunot noo naman ako sa naging tanong ni Charlie. This girl is one of the vipers for pete's sake!
"Ano Charlie? Magkasabwat kayong dalawa?"
"Look Duri, kung ano man yong narinig mo kanina, well, you're right. Iris is part of the vipers, but not until she had discovered Lupin's plans."
Itinuro ko naman ang aking baril sa kanya. In my peripheral view sa akin na nakaturo ang baril ni Iris.
"Don't touch him." usad nito. What the heck is going on?
"Hey Iris, drop that. Duri's harmless, and he is the person that I am talking to you."
