Chapter 32: Negotiation
Duri's POV
When things go wrong, you need to find a way to make it right. If you can't, create another one so you can't prevent it from turning bad.
Life? Well, I do care about my life. I do care about my family's life. I do care about me and them. I don't care about anyone else except them, but now, I don't know. I just can't let someone will destroy someone's future. I just can't let someone destroy someone's hope, someone's dream, and someone's life.
Money? I need money. Everybody needs money. No one in this world cannot live without money because money will help you to live, and a part of you to create your future. But how money became a destroyer in someone's life? Well, when they already committed their lives towards money. All they can see is money. It was like their oxygen. Their life.
Power? We don't need power just to help other people. We don't need a position in our place, our city or in our country just to help someone. But because of power, someone can kill his comrade. A someone can kill someone. An abusing of a power can kill someone, can kill many lives, and can kill you.
Life. Money. Power. These three are being part of someone's life. You need money to have a better life while you need power to survive in this cruel world. If you don't have money and power, it is hard for you to have a better life. But I guess, if you have a colorful life, you can change that belief like a rolling wheel. Not all that have power and money have colorful life, not to say that not all have life have power and money.
Balance. Balance is all we need. Why we need to balance the things that we are living for? Because it will help us to grow. It will help us to have a better life. If you can balance your life over money and power, then you might have a colorful life.
Tsk. What a life.
Napalingon ako kay Iris at kay Charlie na nasa unahan. They are leading the way going to the top floor of this house habang binabaril ang mga kasama nila na humaharang sa dinadaanan namin. So si Charlie pala ang sinasabing boyfriend ni Iris. Tsk. They are still both traitor, pero hindi ko alam kasi masaya akong nakita ko ulit si Charlie. I don't know what he is thinking right now, but I am happy that he want to right what he had done.
I look at my left side and shot the guy who points his gun to Charlie. Napalingon naman si Charlie sa aking gawi.
"I thought you are not that good in handling guns. Ayos bro."
Napakunot noo naman ako sa pagsalita niya ulit ng tagalog.
"You know, you should speak tagalog often para hindi naman ako manosebleed dito Charlie."
Ngumiti naman siya sabay baril sa may likod ko. Oh, there is a guy behind me.
"Sure Duri pag nasa Pilipinas na tayo."
Nanlaki naman ang aking mata sa sinabi niya.
"What did you say?"
"I want to go in the Philippines after this problem. Ayaw mo ba?"
"Really? Are you sure with that?"
"Of course!"
"I will go with you too."
Sabay naman kaming napalingon kay Iris na huminto sa paglalakad. I look at her back, oh. There is a door. Diyan na siguro papasok sa huling floor ng bahay na'to.
