Chapter 7: Impossible Crime II (discovering the truth)

Ki's POV

I looked at Jun who is now carrying my new books. He was supposed to join Duri and Abby, but I did not let him go. I know Duri will just feel awkward and annoyed towards Abby, but Abby is a very charming person. Well, she was really annoying, but she is a big help in solving cases. She is really wise and not impulsive. She is one of our aces here.

"Do you think Duri did not have a conversation with Abby right now? Alam mo naman yon, ayaw kausapin ang babae."

"Just let them be. I know he was thinking about Selene and Min."

Tiningnan naman niya ako ng mapanuring tingin. Oh, hawk eyes. He always got this hawk eyes I really don't like to see.

"Did Boss plan it, right? I know he has something on his sleeves, Ki."

Hindi ko na lang siya sinagot na kinainis niya. I don't know what's in my father's mind. He just want to reopen the case here a year ago. He wants to see Marcus. That's what he wanted.

Marcus was alive, and it is not impossible for Charlie to be alive, right?"

Napaisip ako sa sinabi ni Jun. That was also I thought since Duri told me about the case. Paano kung buhay pa nga si Charlie? What would Duri feel about it?

"Duri will find a way to solve his unsolved case before. And we should be ready about it. I think something will happen soon once he'll be discovered about Marcus. If they will see each other again."

Napatango na lamang siya sabay lagay ng mga libro sa mini-shelf ko.

Duri's POV

Tinignan ko ng maigi si Abby na kinakausap ngayon si Ace.

"Let's do the four-way test of truth."

Ethics is somewhat connected to cases. Four-Way Test of Truth was used by Rotarians before as a moral code for any aspects of life, scripted by Herbert J. Taylor, an American from Chicago.

The four ways are; is it the truth, is it fair to all concerned, will it build goodwill and better friendships, and will it be beneficial to all concerned.

These are the moral codes that I want to try now. Miss Georgie's case is a kind of impossible crime. I know. She was really the victim alongside the one who was killed.

I can't see the scratches on any part of her body that I can only see.

When you are in an impossible crime, it is hard for you as one of the victims– called to be the killer even if you are not.

The interval of time is all connected.

There is blood on her shoes as Abby said, but there is no other blood on her shirt or pants even her hands. Nung lumapit siya sa akin kanina, yes she has a sweet perfume, but I can still feel the blood coming from her body though there is no trace of blood on her body aside from her feet.

Ibig sabihin, hindi siya nagpalit ng damit. The one she used when she went here was also the one she used when we saw her at the store.

When the weapon is a butcher knife, then it is possible that the killer really intended to kill the victim.
