my husband is a business man. just gotten back from our honey moon. speeding at 120 in a ferrari, me having no idea where we were going. i owned my own literature office, i didn't have to work being that my husband was voted one of the richest men alive, but i so because i like. i don't want to sit at home all doing doing nothing.
he fastly turned the corner of the curve, driving into the gates of what looked like an old abandoned house. it however, looked like a nice house to me. i enjoyed old things, it shows what they went through to get the marks and scuff they have now.
he parked, personal security, james, pulling up behind us parked also. before he got out his jaw clenched, muscles retracting in his whit long sleeve collared shirt. having slacked khakis on also. i had my black pencil skirt on, with a blue long sleeve. he slammed the car door shut, i closed mine as well. we began to walk, security staying back. i observed him, his hands tucked into his front pockets and his phone in his back left one. i crossed my arms walking on side of him. i felt like i'd seen this house before, now that i'm closer to it.
"i feel like i've been here before." my soft voice entered the air. he stared at me wide eyed.
"you saw it when we were sailing, in cabo for our honey moon." then it struck me. he listened the day of our honey moon when i'd said, i'd love to live in something like this one day. he payed attention at moments i didn't expect him to.
we walked side by side approaching the front door of the wooden brown and white painted house. it was large enough for two families if that fit you well.
"it's beautiful." i reminisced to the last day of our honey moon. wind was blowing in my hair and i had all that i needed at the moment.
"i bought it." my jaw parted open, we kept walking as he spoke. feet bring him closer to me. he always did thing to amazed me, i didn't need a large house or anything to be impressed by him. all i needed, was the person that had his hands in his pockets. "it's for us... it's our home." i looked around, in awe.
"i should've asked you first." he never did ask me though. i was speechless. "if you don't like it we can always..." i cut him off by placing three gentle open mouthed kisses on his plump, yet chapped lips. my hands fell to the nape of his neck, and i stroked my fingers through the back of his head. feeling pieces of his fluffy hair.
"i love it." i smiled brightly, looking up into his emerald shining eyes.
"y-you do." for a business man, he was always nervous around me. i shook my head yes, softly, passionately kissing him again. our breaths encapsulated in each other's. leaning my forehead onto his and smiling. he couldn't stop with the grin on his face.
we approached the blond haired women that was standing at the front door of our new home. the realtor, and planner of everything that was to happen with this house. the becks in the front of the house defined it even more.
"johnny." johnny patted the top of her back, giving her a slight peck on the cheek. i didn't react, because this was strictly business. supposed to be anyway.
"y/n." she put her hand out to shake mine. her make up was smudged, and everything someone who is realtor shouldn't be. slender fit with brown eyes, and a float patterned dress. johnny looked my way as our hands parted and i peered at him also.
"this is landry bennett. the architect." damn, architect and realtor and one, guess that why he picked her.
"she's a friend of maddie's." his sister maddie. i loved maddie, and this women standing in front of me didn't seem like anyone she'd hang out with.
"this location is perfect." she made hand gestures that annoyed me. her loud lipstick making me follow every word that came out of her mouth. "i'm going to build you a fabulous house." she placed her hand on johnnys shoulder. if she had any respect for me and johnny, she wouldn't have laid a hand on him. goes to show what type of person she is already. i held my tongue. he looked at her hand, as she held it there looking back at me. he knew i wasn't fond of it.
"id like to show y/n the inside." he furrowed his eyebrows, as a way to get her to remove her hand that was still placed on his shoulder. his arm moved from his side and wrapped around me, grabbing at the small of my back and pulling me closely into him.
"of course." she eyed me up and down.
"now let me show you what i have in mind." she showed us the way to what looked like a finding room. it was the only spot out of the entire house that contained furniture. it was a tall glass table, with a grey and red carpet underneath. the blueprints of the house laid out in front of ya as she pointed at certain things.
"a state of the art, self sufficient, smart house." nothing i wanted. i wanted the house just left the way it was. she stood at the small end of the table, johnny standing next to me on the long end. the sun shining through the window, giving a spill of ligh being that there were none in the house.
"korean steel, self cleaning glass." continuing to ramble. "guess rooms, with an entertaining area. and this making it equal will really set you apart." her hand wrapped around johnnys wrist. he shoved his fist into his pocket, avoiding contact with the women that still consistently touched my husband. she didn't get the clue. i cleared my through as johnny licked his bottom lip. crossing my arms, as well.
"you want to, tear the whole house down?" asked.
"don't you?" her eyes trailed from johnnys face to mine as i spoke. "it's so dated." she looked again at johnny. not paying any attention to me and it struck a nerve.
"i like it, i think it has character." i added, interrupting her eye contact with johnny, his head turning to me.
"it's more self sufficient and practical to tear it down, it's up to you." she rubbed the back of her hand against his arm.
"actually it's up to my wife, what she says goes." he looked back and me and down at the ring on phone in his pocket. "excuse me." beginning to walk away, taking a business call. they interrupted at any time, and he always had to take them. i watched him walk off, outside.
"ugh, i suppose we could reuse some of the existing stone..." i interrupted her, sitting down on the blue prints, that were on the table. slamming my hand down against it, showing my anger towards her.
"landry, it is landry right." she looked appalled at me sitting on the top of the table and covering the blue prints. she looked down. "i'm sure you're very good at what you do. otherwise johnny wouldn't have asked for your input." he never engaged in other women but me. "but..." i laughed silently. "please stop speaking to my husband as if i weren't here."
"y/n." she tried to seem concerned, knowing she was after my husband. "i have designed many prestige projects."
"you may all me mrs. orlando." i added, calling me out of my name, like she knew who i was. if she did she would know not to touch johnny. "and this is not a prestige project, this is going to be our home. so, if you want this job i suggest you stop making eyes at my husband and keep your hands to yourself." she gulped, looking me straight in the eyes.
"or you can go and climb back into your shit colored car and drive back to los angles. it's up to you." she shook her head in disgust. clearing her throat. frightened by me.
"i'm sorry, mrs. orlando, but i would never..." she turned her head back hearing johnnys foot steps enter the house again. his shoes hit hardly against the dark wooden floor. "it won't happen again..." she whispered, underneath so that only i could hear her. i smiled knowing i had her where i wanted her. i jumped off of the table. johnny walked over to me, i massaged his back and kissed him on the cheek.
"everything okay?" he glanced landry, and the blue prints.
"yeah we were just have a respectful conversation my love." i cut my eyes at her as she took a deep breath.
"we should just start over, i'll draw up knew plans." she shook only my hand. "mrs. orlando, mr. orlando." she picked up her plans and left.
