3rd —
she took note of how johnny stayed away from physical touch lately, very much unusual of him. being that he was normally extremely clingy when he came home from la. she began to think that maybe he was overwhelmed and just needed some space so she gave him that. but then it seemed like he pushed himself farther away from her and became more distant. something was obviously bothering him and despite how much she offered to listen to him talk about it, he never spoke.
initially, she noticed when he left the terminal. lips curved into a long frown, that had to have been stuck there for days. body language screaming sleep deprived. that didn't surprise her since he had a busy week and long flight previously, but something was just off about him.
her giving self, let it slide for two days. hoping that he was just frustrated that he couldn't get this one chord right in a new song or that his writers block was preventing him from writing. it wasn't uncommon that johnny tried to shut everyone around him out when he's enveloped inside his mind, he gets lost in his thought, consumingly.
the third day, she grew insecure and self conscious. not sure if he even wanted her around anymore. he would instantly pull away if she tried to even give him the smallest of kisses or even a hug. even in bed, he didn't cuddle her. which took her by surprise since he always insisted on cuddles every time they got the chance to share a bed. therefore, no warm spooning on the couch, no good morning or goodnight kisses, and no other physical activities that required either of them to touch one another. anytime she tried talking to him, he just shrugged it off and dismissed her words with a short "don't worry about me, i'm fine." that's the thing though, johnny is a horrible liar. he's always been and everyone knows that. his cheeks turn bright beat red, starts fiddling with the chain on his neck, and stutters. if that didn't give him away, it was the guilt flossing his sweet eyes. she stopped pressing on the subject, before she went too far. but, it hurt her seeing him hurt.
it also hurt her that he proceeded to ignore her. making every doubt of hers, worse with every long day. she knew that it wasn't cheating, johnny would never. he's not one to betray someone trust like that, for his heart is too pure and his soul is too kind. maybe he realized that he doesn't need her anymore? that there were women out there who were smarter, skinnier, and more beautiful than her? she was followed by her insecurities, she couldn't focus on anything but them. people make is so easy to fall out of love, perhaps johnny had fallen out of love with her? normally, she would've taken her problems to johnny because he always knew how to handle them just right. every time she needed to talk to him he supposed that he was busy even though he was either playing his game, or watching a netflix show that he's seen repeatedly.
