she's had her right ear glued to the bathroom door for ages, is what it felt like, now. anytime think the coast is clear, and she's about to make a run for it .. another one of johnny's frat mates thuds past drunken, with their heavy feet on the wooden floor. echoing every step.
she despises showering at johnnys dorm, but it's the price she has to pay, being that she is staying on a school night. the thought of that term amuses her - school night. almost nostalgic those words resembled when she was in elementary school, her mom said she couldn't play outside later than 5 o'clock because it was a school night, and she had to get up early the following day. now she's staying at her boyfriend's dorm on a thursday when she's got a lecture in class at 7 am the next morning. a rebel, is what she presumed to feel like.
rebellion, that's what she's doing now. an older frat boy had been teasing her earlier at dinner. haphazardly, she's not 'fun' enough. a square compared to the circles. too edgy and not enough. granted, she's a bit more.. mature than some of her sisters. certainly more mature than any frat boy on this broad campus, but he'd beaten around the bush, knowing what he really meant was 'boring', though he never actually said it.
she's got a point to prove. only person she'll be proving it to is johnny. but, maybe he'll vouch for her the next time someone inconsiderately calls her boring. rather than sitting there, saying nothing, whilst letting you stick up for herself. part of her admires that about him, other part wishes he'd open his mouth every once in a while, instead of just smirking at the her hissy in her argument.
she doesn't know how he's going to react. she brings to imagine him wide eyed, a little choked, rose cheeks. thought makes her giggle aloud. quickly covering her mouth
he's in his room. she's waiting to sprint that short, yet long awaited distance. those few meters across the hall to his cracked open doorway. he always has the door open when she's not inside.
been quiet for a minute now. optimistically, she cracks the door open and peers out. aiming her head left and right to look for anybody. not a soul. she grins to herself.
she's sprinting across the landing in nothing. completely naked, in all her pale skin. absolutely nothing. no pants, not a bra, nor a towel. hair still tied up and neck still damp. towel that johnny had given her abandoned on the heated rail after drying herself off.
at the sound of someone talking from the
she yells at the sounds of banter from bottom of the stairs, moving faster, quieter, stealthier across the hallway.
slipping inside johnny's open doorway, quickly shutting the door behind her with a slam. to face the room with pressed lips and hooded eyes.
johnny has sat up straighter upon her entrance. jolting out of the slumped position you'd left him in thirty minutes ago.
that picture she'd imagined - wide eyed, choked and rose-cheeked.
"what're you doin', lovie?" he asks, voice drawn and dulcet with caution. as if concern struck him.
her lips upturn into a giddy half- smile. "proving that i'm not boring."
johnny clears his throat twice. "oh so you thought runnin' across the landing ass naked would prove that, did you?"
".. yeah," she nods, beginning to gently tip-toe her way across the room, "think i succeeded."
he chuckles amused, swaying his legs over the side of the bed. " s'this about what that fucking idiot said to you at dinner?"
"partly," she admits, but she's still stuck with a sly yet proud smile. " also wanted to see your reaction. just ran naked through your dorm and didn't get caught."
"mm, i'd say hell of a good job, baby," he snorts, resting his hands on her hips just as she settles between his legs. "but 'm glad no one else saw you, 'cause i really like bein' the only one who gets to see you naked." places pieces of her partially wet hair, behind her ear.
her smile turns into a pout, slapping his shoulder swiftly. "stick up for me next time, then!
"damn!" he matches her expression, though he's cowering a bit more. " y'always do a good job at that yourself!"
