Day 20 - Moving On Operation

"He would if there would be someone worth coming back for."

Shocked. That's what I felt when I saw him leaning beside the door crossing his arms.

I was just about to ask what is he doing here but he interjected, "I'm still searching for the one whom my heart's beating for."

And in that moment, he smiled at me. I looked at Kimpie who's probably dying because of too much sweetness coming out from Luke's mouth. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him clueless.

"Sino ba 'yang worth coming back for?" Sabi ni Kimpie habang pumipikit pa. I elbowed him and he just giggle in response.

Luke shrugged, "I don't know. She's gone in heaven already."

Yung nakataas na shoulder kanina ni Kimpie dahil sa sobrang kilig ay agad agad na bumaba dahil sa pagkakadismaya. Yan kasi, sabing wag magexpect. Tingnan mo ako, chill lang.

I heard Kimpie muttered the word 'Aww' Bago pa magdrama dito, I changed the topic. "So what brings you here? A goodbye speech?"

He looked at me in disbelief. "Nope, came here to spend the day with you."

I felt my cheeks warming up. Bigla naman nawala yun nung umeksena si Kimpie, "Asuuus. If I know, kinikilig na yan si Lelay. Pakipot pa kanina, e. Bibigay din pala ke Luke. Alam mo ba Luke nag-eemote pa yan si Lelay kanina dahil aalis --"

Tinakpan ko yung bunganga niya at kinurot yung tagiliran niya. Kainis.

"Sige na," Tinulak ako ni Kimpie papalayo. "Magbonding na kayo. Di ako makakasama kasi magpapaparlor pa ako and may mga appointments pa ako. Sorry guys, Lelay, alagaan mo 'yang si Luke."

Pagbibiro niya saakin at pinagtangkaan na susuntukin ko siya.

Narinig kong tumawa si Luke, "Kimpoy, I didn't even invite you in the first place. Thank God for parlor and appoinments, atleast I don't get to share Lelay with you."

Tumawa ako ng napakalakas. I didn't know Luke had the rumor!

I saw Kimpie's face fumed in embarrassment, "Layas! Mga dukha!"

Luke and I just laughed our way out of the door.

Spell AWKWARD. Eto yun 'e. Me and Luke sitting across eachother. I was tapping the table using my finger, meanwhile Luke was trying to get the waitress' attention.

Finally, the waitress came in and took our orders. "What's yours, Ly?"

I stiffened. Hearing him say my nickname sounds odd. "Water lang," Luke, who doesn't seem pleased with what I ordered, looked at me with disbelief. "Water? Are you serious?"

I pointed out my face to tell him I was serious. I haven't eaten anything since I went home, I just don't feel like it. Things became strange and different when Julia died. Or shall I say, when Julia came into our lives.
