When I got home there was a note on the fridge.

Dad always worked.
My parents are divorced and my mom lives 14 hours away. I have an older brother that's married and has a few kids. And obviously a sister with kids.
I went to my room and started on my essay.
An hour later and I was done with it. I grabbed my phone and was scrolling on twitter when someone rang the doorbell.
I got up and went downstairs. I opened the front door to find Calum.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey come inside." I said. "Do you want anything to drink or eat?" I asked
"Uh no thanks." He said. And I sat down at the kitchen table and he stood across from me.
"So what's up?" I asked.
"Oh! I almost forgot- here" he said digging in his pocket and pulled out my mophie (a portable charger) and handed it to me.
"You forgot it at my house." He said.
"Thanks. But ya know we are getting together at Luke's tomorrow. You could've given it to me then." I said.
"I just wanted to see you." He admitted. And smirked.
"Awh thanks Cal." I said. he looked around and found the note my dad left and read it.
"You're home by yourself at 10:00 at night?" Calum asked.
"Yeah. Why?" I asked.
"Maggie it's not safe. You didn't even have your door locked." He said.
"Calum I'm 17 years old. I can take care of myself." I told him.
"I would feel much better if I stayed with you just until your dad came home." He said.
"My dad is 5 hours away. Even if he was done now he wouldn't be done until late tomorrow morning." I said.
"I don't care." He said.
I thought about it for a minute.
"Alright. Go to my brothers old room. There are still some clothes of his in there that you can use." I said and he ran upstairs and I cleaned up the kitchen a little bit until Calum came back down in his boxers and a bro-tank of my brothers.
"You know my brother had shorts you can wear." I said.
"Oh well. " Calum said and we went upstairs to my room.
We climbed in bed and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out. But before I was out completely I heard Calum whisper "It is true. What I told Annabelle." and kiss my forehead.
