Time Will Tell

**Chapter 13**

-Liam-

I watched her storm off, quickly making her way down the stairs of the cafeteria. I continued to stay seated at the table after she had vanished from view. This didn't go as planned, and I am afraid that I have pushed her straight into his arms. I don't want her to get hurt, but I think that's the only way she will learn, and it sickens me to think that it could be my only option. She obviously won't listen to me, so what other options do it have?

Maybe my mum would have some good advice on this stuff. She would probably know what to do. I quickly threw my backpack over my shoulder and walked down the stairs and out the double doors of the Campus Center.

The warm sun hit my body instantly, making goose bumps appear all over. I looked at the surrounding area as my feet tapped along the pavement. The trees leaves were changing colors already, bright oranges, yellows, and reds. Some were starting to fall off. The cool breeze made the atmosphere feel more like a cool fall day then a warm summer day.

I heard other shoes clicking on the pavement behind me, bushing it off as just someone walking to their car or into another building. I should've ran because those shoes came right up behind me, grabbed me by the arms, and slammed me hard against the nearest building. The wind was knocked out of me, making it really hard to breath. I looked up to see Louis, making my heart rate sky rocket through the roof.

"Well, well, well. Can't hide from me this time can you Payne?" Louis laughed as I tried to catch my breath.

"What do you want Louis?" I asked, gasping for air.

Louis smiled, cocking his head to the side, "What do I want? Now that I think about it, I really want your girlfriend." he smiled.

"She's not my girlfriend." I hissed. I thrashed my arms and legs, trying to get free, but his position gave him the advantage over me.

Louis smiled again, "So, I guess you wouldn't mind if I fuck her at Harry's party this coming weekend then." he teased.

"If you fucking touch her, I'll rip your throat out." I spat through gritted teeth.

Louis laughed, "Someone's jealous." he said and continued to laugh.

"Fuck you, Louis." I hissed before I spat in his face. His hand immediately went up to wipe off my saliva. I took this opportunity to take my free hand and punch him in the face, making him fall to the ground with a thud. I stepped around him, and ran as fast as I could to my car. It hurt to breath as I ran, but it was bearable.

I quickly unlocked my door and sat down in the driver's side. My shaky hands stuck the key in the ignition and turned it, bringing the engine to life. I threw the car in drive and sped off before Louis could come back for round two.

"Mum, I'm home!" I called as I walked through the door.

"I'm in the kitchen dear." she called back. As I took my shoes off, I could hear her talking with someone and I rolled my eyes at the familiar voice. As I walked into the kitchen, I saw Jeff standing by the counter, drinking his beer, while mum wheeled around in her wheelchair trying to make dinner.

"Hello mum." I said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello Liam." she smiled. I stride over to the cupboard next to the refrigerator to grab a cup, filling it with water from the refrigerator. I heard Jeff clear his throat behind me, but as usual, I didn't even acknowledge his existence.

"Liam, don't be rude." my mum sighed. Every time Jeff and I were in the same room together, she would have to say that exact sentence to me over and over again. I hated this man's guts, and I never wanted to acknowledge the fact that this type of man exists in our sad little world.
