**Chapter 18**

-Liam-

I washed the last dish and placed it in the drying rack on the counter. Drying my hands with a towel, I leaned up against the counter, pulling my phone out of my pocket and pausing my music. I pulled my headphones out of my ears and placed my phone on a dry spot on the counter. It was apparently my night to do the dishes even though I did them the last few nights. I hated the way my hands felt after I washed the dishes. They would get all wrinkly, and it would drive me nuts.

I pushed myself off the counter, using the towel in my hands to clean up the water that I splashed everywhere. When everything was cleaned up, I grabbed my phone and turned off the lights in the kitchen, heading towards my room. I stopped in my tracks when I heard Brynn start screaming.

"Brynn!?" I called, racing towards her room, my heart racing faster than my feet. My hands fumbled at her doorknob, but managed to get it open.

"Brynn, what's wrong?" I asked as I burst through her door, searching for her tiny figure in her room. Her room was dully lit, but I could see her clear as day. My eyes landed on her cowering in the corner up against the wall, covering her tear stained cheeks with her blankets.

Her eyes never glanced in my direction, only staring at the tall figure at the edge of her bed staring back at her, "Please don't hurt me." she whimpered from behind her blankets.

The tall figure chuckled lightly, "Oh baby, I would never hurt you. I only live to pleasure you." the tall figure smirked, bringing a knee up to kneel on her bed, crawling closer to her.

"No, don't!" she pleaded, tears rushing down her face, but the figure grew closer and closer. Brynn let out another gut wrenching scream, and I lost it.

"No!" I yelled, my eyes shooting open, sweat beading down my forehead. Brynn's scream was still ringing in my ears. I threw the covers off me as I ran out of bed, "Brynn!" I called, still terrified from my nightmare. I ran out of my room, and down to Brynn's bedroom. My hands gripped her doorknob and burst through her door, startling her half to death.

"Brynn, are you okay!?" I asked, sounding panicked and feeling out of breath.

Her eyes were wide as she stared at me, slowly pulling her headphones out of her ears. Her wide eyed expression turned more confused, "I could ask you the same question, Liam. What's the matter?" she questioned.

I shook my head, taking a deep breath, "Nothing, I was just making sure you were okay."

She furrowed her eyebrows at me, "And why wouldn't I be okay?"

I shrugged, about to say something when Brynn cut me off, "Come sit." she said, patting the seat next to her on her bed. I obliged and took a seat next to her, sighing deeply as I sat.

She turned her body towards me, sitting criss-cross on her bed. I sat there with my hands in my lap, bracing myself for the conversation ahead. I couldn't bring myself to look at her, I felt so guilty.

"Is something bothering you, Liam?" she asked.

"No." I lied.

She sighed, thinking of another question to ask, "Did you have a bad dream, Liam?" she asked, concern washing over her light brown eyes. I sighed, continuing not to look at her. I didn't want to admit that the guilt ridden dreams were starting to happen again. I thought they had stopped for good, but I guess I was wrong.

"Liam, look at me." she said, her voice more stern this time. I rolled my eyes, and obliged again. I turned my body slightly towards her so it was easier for me to look at her. "I thought those dreams stopped?" she asked, looking confused.
