**Chapter 02**

**Julina to the side**

Today was going to be another long day. I didn't have class until two, so I decided to waste my time at the library. I sat down in a chair and pulled out a book that I had been reading called "The Lucky One" by Nicholas Sparks. He is one of my all-time favorite authors. I got comfortable and started reading. Every time the doors would open to the library, I would look up, hoping to see one person walk in. Liam.

But time and time again, it was someone else. I wanted to know if he was okay. I wanted to know that he wasn't hurt, and that he wasn't in trouble. It would kill me if he was in trouble because of me. Even though he was the biggest jerk to me yesterday; somewhere deep down inside I know that I do care about him. I pushed the thought away. I buried my nose in my book again and continued to read. I looked around the library, noticing it was really packed in here. Being one o'clock in the afternoon, it was prime time for the library to be packed with people. I sighed and put my nose back in my book, not bothering to watch all the people anymore.

Not long after, the doors opened again and I spotted Liam walking into the library. I watched as he sat down at a table not too far from where I was sitting. I put my book down and got up, walking over to him. He looked up and saw me coming over to him. He rolled his eyes and stood up from his seat. He walked away hastily; his long strides leaving me in the dust.

"Liam, wait!" I called as I walked a little faster to compete with his strides. He ignored me and continued to walk away from me. When you ignore someone, it's never a good sign. This made me grow a little more worried. "Liam stop. I want to talk to you." I called again. I finally caught up to him and tugged at his arm. He suddenly stopped and spun around to face me. When his eyes met mine, I felt that spark again. Why does that keep coming up?

"What?" he snapped, his eyes dark with anger. I was taken back a bit by his sudden hostility towards me.

"W-what happened?" I asked. It was all I could say. I was still surprised by his hostility.

He looked up towards the ceiling, giving it that 'why me' look. He sighed heavily and looked back down at me, glaring, "What the hell do you think happened? I got in trouble because of you," he spat. Those were the words that I didn't want to hear. They literally tore me to pieces. He ran his hands through his hair and down over his face, "You know what, don't ever talk to me again. Leave me alone." he growled and started to walk away.

"Hey wait," I said and tugged at his arm again. "How was that my fault?" I asked. I already knew the answer, I just wanted to hear it from him. I think it just made him angrier though.

"Are you kidding me right now? How was it your fault?" he snapped as he turned around again. "If you had just kept your nose in your own business and not have gotten involved, I wouldn't of had to attack him for putting his grimy hands on you. Now leave me alone." he said and started to walk away again.

"Seriously Liam? Can you stop trying to walk away from me?" I asked agitated.

He rolled his eyes and stopped walking, "What part of leave me alone do you not understand?"

"I understand that you want me to leave you alone, but I don't understand why you're so mad at me. I tried to help you. What did you want me to do? Sit there and watch him hurt you like that?"

"Yes! For the love of God, yes! I wanted you to walk away like everyone else always does! If you did, he would be the only one in trouble right now!" he yelled.

I rubbed my forehead, "All I wanted to do is help you."

"You helped me get into trouble. Thanks, I really appreciate it." he said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes at him. I wasn't going to let his remarks get the best of me. Not just yet anyway.
