**Chapter 12**
I stared out at the floating clouds slowly passing by as I sat quietly at a table in the cafeteria. Daydreaming was one of my favorite leisure activities. Most people make their life decisions in the shower, but I make my decisions through daydreaming. Today though, I didn't make many decisions. I just thought.
I thought about a lot of things. I thought about Niall for a little while. I thought about him coming home, and how happy everyone would be to see him, especially Zayn. I love thinking about them being a couple because they are so adorable together.
Zayn is going to want to see Niall, and I'm sure Harry and Analeigh would too. Maybe we could have like a small get together tonight when he comes home. I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind. I felt a smile play at my lips as I planned our little get together.
My smile faded a little when Liam's comment from yesterday suddenly popped in my head, "You threw a party and didn't invite me?"
I couldn't help but replay how he stormed out yesterday. It had been stuck on my mind, giving me small clues as to why it all happened in the first place. I felt three light taps on my shoulder, bring me out of my reverie. I was really surprised to see Liam standing behind me with a small smile on his face.
"Hey." he mumbled, rocking back and forth on his heels.
My eyes widened involuntarily, "Uhm, hey Liam." I said, a little confused.
Liam looked down at the floor, "Could I sit with you for a moment?" he mumbled again, almost as if he were embarrassed to ask.
Wait...What?!
"You want to sit with me? Who are you and what have you done with the Liam I know?" I joked, but he didn't even crack a smile.
"Yeah, I just wanted to talk to you about something, that's all." he said, completely dodging my joke. Liam wants to associate with me? Well, this day is going better than I expected. Let's not jinx it.
"Of course you can sit with me." I said, gesturing for him to sit down. He pulled out a chair and sat across from me, adjusting himself as he did.
"I, uh, I just wanted to talk to you about yesterday, and explain why I did what I did." he said.
"Was it something I did?" I asked.
Liam immediately shook his head, "No, no. It was nothing you did." he said pausing for a moment. "It was something someone else did." he continued.
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, "Harry?"
Liam's fingers knotted as he licked the dryness away from his lips and sighed, "He's dangerous, Julina. I don't want to see you get hurt by someone like him." he blurted out in one breath.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, not believing what I was hearing. "He's probably the sweetest person ever. How could you say he's dangerous? He wouldn't hurt a fly."
"You say that now, but you don't know what he's done." Liam stated simply.
"And you do, Liam?" I questioned.
"I do." he said calmly. "Why do you think I hate him so much?"
"Could it be because you're a little jealous." I said as if I was talking to a five years old child. I folded my arms across my chest, waiting for him to come up with some kind of comeback.
Liam rolled his eyes before narrowing them at me, "How could I be jealous of someone like him?" Liam questioned.
"Because I had a good time with him. And let's not forget that he's sweet and caring, while all you do is push me away." I retorted. I could feel my mood drastically changing by the second.
Liam rolled his eyes again and let out an irritated sigh, "Yeah, he's as sweet as vinegar," he retorted. "He also only 'cares' about you because he wants you to let him in your pants." he added, drawing air quotes around 'cares' for emphasis.
I shook my head as if I couldn't understand what he was saying, "What did he ever do to you?" I asked, venomous words starting to spill. I didn't like the way he was talking about Harry. He is a sweet and genuine guy. I may have only known him for a day or two, but I can tell he is a good person.
"He ruined my life." he stated simply, as if it were no big deal to him.
"How? Please enlighten me" I spat, growing more and more frustrated. What bothered me the most was that Liam wasn't arguing back. He was staying calm and cool the entire time, making me feel like I was losing this battle.
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" Liam calmly asked.
I narrowed my eyes at him in confusion, "You're not making a very good point here, Liam. First you're telling me to stay away from him because he is 'dangerous.' Now you're telling me to go ask him myself?" I accused, adding air quotes around 'dangerous,' mocking him from before.
He rolled his eyes, "You know what I mean."
I sighed and shook my head, "Why are you doing this, Liam?"
He shrugged his shoulders lightly, "To protect you."
My eyes widened involuntarily again. I was really taken away by his answer, "Since when do you care about me?" I asked more gently this time.
"Since you mentioned the name of the one person I know you shouldn't trust," he said before we both went silent for a moment. I wasn't going to win this fight, and I knew that, but I wasn't going to give in to him. No matter how hard he tries.
"I know I've been a huge prick to you ever since we met, and I have given you every reason in the world to hate me, but please just listen to me. I really want you to know that I have realized now that you aren't going to go anywhere like everyone else does. I want you to know that I trust you on your word, and I want you to trust me on this. I'm not doing this to hurt you, Julina. I'm doing this to protect you and I only have your best interest at heart."
"My best interest is being around my friends, which includes Harry."
Liam let out a loud groan, running his hands through his hair then down his face, "Why won't you listen to me?"
I narrowed my eyes at him, "You're not the boss of me. I don't have to listen to you."
"If you were smart, you would listen to me." he retorted.
I glared at him, "What are you implying?"
Liam snickered, "I think what I'm implying is pretty obvious."
"You know what Liam, insulting me is not going to help you." I spat. My phone vibrated next to me. My mom had texted me telling me that she was here. I started to pack up my things and put them in my backpack.
Liam looked at me funny, "What are you doing?"
"Leaving." I state simply. I threw my backpack over my shoulders and looked Liam dead in the eyes, "You're wrong about Harry, and I will prove it to you. You'll see." I said.
"And I'll be right there to rub it in your face when your wrong." he said with a sarcastic smile. I rolled my eyes before turning on my heels and leaving.
