**Chapter 40**

I ran up to my room, slammed the door shut, and locked it behind me. I leaned up against the door, letting my pounding head rest against it. My eyes looked up towards the ceiling, letting tears fall down my cheeks. I immediately felt a sting of regret in my chest. I really shouldn't have said some of those things to my mother.

I pushed myself off the door, growing tired of standing. I walked slowly over to my bed, wiping the falling tears off my face. I pulled the covers off to the side of my neatly made bed. I slowly climbed into bed, not even bothering to take my provocative dress off. I noticed I was still wearing Liam's leather jacket. As I laid face down into the pillows, I pulled his jacket tightly around me. I couldn't help but continue to cry into the pillows. Everything that had happened tonight was finally hitting me. Everything with Harry, Liam, my mom, everything made me feel like my life was falling apart again.

I turned around in bed to lay on my back. I stared up at the ceiling, thinking of my mom again, "Why won't she just listen to me?" I cried, covering my eyes with my hands, attempting, but failing horribly to stop the tears from falling from my eyes.

I sighed to myself, trying to calm myself down. There was nothing I could do now. I just needed to go to sleep and put this all behind me.

I woke up not long later, growing irritated with myself that I didn't stay asleep for very long. I was laying on my side facing the balcony. I sighed to myself and turned over to face my bedroom door. When I opened my eyes, I swear I saw a pair of red glowing eyes staring at me. Thinking it was just my vision, I rubbed my eyes and blinked twice before looking in the same spot. The pair of red eyes disappeared, making me feel calmer. I closed my eyes and told myself it was all in my head as I turned back around to face the balcony doors. When I opened my eyes, the pair of red eyes were right in front of me now, lying in bed next to me. The red eyed blinked at me and an eerie smile had soon appeared. I could feel hands touching me all over my body, and I clawed at the hands, trying to make them go away. I looked into the red eyes, almost getting lost when the creepy figure yelled "Boo!"

I jolted up in bed, my heart beating out of my chest, and sweat and tears pouring from my face. My breathing was very shallow as I scanned every inch of my very lit bedroom. I took a few deep breaths, relaxing myself from the horrible nightmare.

I wiped my forehead with the back of my hand and glanced over at my alarm clock. I had only been asleep for about a half hour. I rolled my eyes at myself, feeling my eyelids getting heavier and a migraine starting.

I got up out of bed to finally change out of my dress and Liam's jacket, putting on a white tank top and a pair of pajama pants. I put Liam's jacket on the back of the chair by my desk. I cleaned up the left over make up running down my face. I then went over to my balcony door, opening it up to feel the crisp, cold air. I shivered wrapping my arms around myself, the air making goosebumps appear on my skin. I quickly went back into my room to grab my robe, wrapping it tightly around me. I walked back out onto the balcony, leaning up against the cold, cement railing. I stared out at the moon, admiring all the craters it had. I felt so relaxed and at peace out here. I was able to forget about everything in life and just enjoy the night. I haven't felt this way for a while now, and it felt really nice.

"Psst! Julina!" I heard a familiar voice whisper, scaring me to death. I looked over the edge to see Liam standing on the ground below me.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I was surprised that Liam was actually here right now. "Liam?! What the hell are you doing here?" I whisper-yelled to him.

Liam stuffed his one hand in his pocket, and the other one reached up to rub the back of his neck, "I uhm... I wanted to see you," he said hesitantly at first. "I realized I wasn't very comfortable at Niall's house given the fact that I don't really know him all that well." He said, stuffing the other hand in his pocket as he rocked back and forth on his heels. "So, are all the houses around here the same with all the balconies and stuff?" Liam asked, nodding his head towards my house.
