**Chapter 28**

I couldn't believe what I just saw. The look on her face alone broke my heart. She was scared, terrified even, of Harry. I could feel her pain, knowing how it felt to be terrified of someone through my own personal experiences. Harry did something to her and I want to know what it was that he did. I looked up at Harry, who was just staring at the top of the stairs, "What the hell was that about?" I asked, shrugging his arm off my shoulders, turning to face him.

"Julina, I honestly have no idea what he's talking about. I'm just as surprised as you." he said, still staring at the stairs.

I raised an eyebrow at him. I couldn't believe a word that came out of his mouth, not after seeing her face when she looked at him, "You're really going to stand there and tell me that you have no idea what he's talking about? Or what about the fact that his sister is scared shitless of you? What did you do to her Harry?" I asked. My mind was racing a mile a minute, all kinds of questions popped in my head.

Harry shook his head. He seemed to be growing angry with his current situation, "Julina love, I swear to you I didn't do anything to her. That whole family is fucking crazy. I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of any of their mouths." Harry admitted.

I shook my head, "I don't know Harry." I said, not sure what to think of all of this. I didn't know who or what to believe anymore. I was always getting two very different sides of the story.

Harry looked at me surprised, almost at a loss for words, "What? You actually think I did something to her?" he said, running a hair through his thick hair.

I folded my arms across my chest, "Well, what do you want me to think? Did you not see the look on her face when she saw you? Her expression was pure terror when she saw you." I argued.

Harry rolled his eyes at me with a huff, "Julina, she's pulling your leg. I never did anything to her."

I narrowed my eyes at him, "So what? She was just acting as if she was terrified of you?" I asked, using air quotes around 'acting' to further my point.

Harry rolled his eyes again, "Yes, Julina. That was all an act on their part."

"And how do you know?" I asked, sounding more accusatory than I intended.

Harry shook his head. His expression showed frustration and aggravation, "Brynn and I have a history together." he admitted.

"Well, what happened? What did you do to her?" I asked, pushing deeper into the topic.

"I didn't do anything to her!" Harry yelled. "She did everything to me!" he confessed.

I looked at him confused, "What did she do?"

Harry sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Julina, do we really have to talk about this now? It's all in the past now. Why bring it up again?" he asked, desperation in his voice to drop the topic. I wasn't about to give in. I wanted to know what happened them.

"I want to know. What happened between you and Brynn?" I asked.

Harry sighed, giving in to my demand. He shook his head, "Brynn and I dated over a year ago and things just didn't work out and our relationship ended badly when we broke up."

"Why did you two break up?" I asked, curiously.

Harry shrugged, "She just changed. When we first started dating, she was so sweet and our relationship was full of passion and love. It was a new romance and that part was a lot of fun. As the months went on though, she slowly changed. The first thing I noticed was that she started getting jealous of everything, especially if it had to do with other girls. I shrugged it off, thinking it was a girl thing or a natural human thing since everyone gets a little jealous sometimes. Then slowly, jealousy turned to possession. I was hers and hers only and she made sure everyone knew that. No one was aloud to talk to me, hang out with me, or even look at me without her freaking out. Along with the possessiveness came her protectiveness. She would protect me from everything and anything, even if it was the stupidest little things. Our relationship was very unhealthy with all the mental and emotional abuse that she put me through. I couldn't take it anymore so I ended things with her and she didn't take it very well."

"What did she do after the break up?" I asked.

"She told me that I would regret breaking up with her and that she would make my life a living hell whenever she heard that I was with a new girl. She then proceeded to file sexual assault charges and rape charges against me. Now, I'm not going to lie and say we didn't do anything, because we did, but whenever we were intimate, everything was consensual. She wanted to have sex just as much as I did." he admitted.

My eyes widened from hearing all this new information, ''Were the charges dropped?" I asked.

Harry nodded, "They couldn't get any solid evidence to prove her allegations against me, so they were forced to drop them," he said, pausing for a moment, "Julina, that whole family is fucked up in the head. You have to believe me on this one. Their mother drove their father away because of her protective and possessiveness, Brynn drove me away by doing the same thing, and now I see it happening to you. Liam is trying so hard to keep you away from me because he thinks I'm a bad person. The truth is, he's just mentally unstable."

I stood there silently. I can see where Harry is coming from with Liam being protective and everything, but I don't see how he is mentally unstable. He seems pretty stable to me, but that could just be part of his outer shell. I haven't known Liam that long to know any better.

I don't know anymore. Some pieces of Harry's story just aren't fitting together, "Let's just drop this whole thing and I'll walk you to your class." Harry said, placing a hand on the small of my back, gently pushing me to walk.

I didn't move, "I don't have a class yet." I admitted, looking up at him.

Harry looked at me, puzzled, "But you just told Liam that you had a class to get to."

I nodded, "I know, but I lied. I don't have a class for another hour. I just wanted to get away from him."

Harry raised an eyebrow at me, "Uhm, okay then," he said, rubbing his eyebrow gently, "What do you want to do for the next hour then?" he asked.

I shrugged, "I don't know. I'm not really in the mood to do anything right now." I groaned honestly.

Harry nodded his head with a sigh. A few moments later, Harry's eyes lit up, like a boy coming downstairs on Christmas morning to see all his presents, "I have something that will cheer you up!" he said, a beautiful smile spreading across his face.

I couldn't help but smile at his excitement, "What?" I asked.

"C'mon!" he said as he grabbed my hand and brought me out of the building.
