The Closet

**Chapter 04**

"Happy Friday everyone! It's good to see that you all remembered to come to the computer lab today." Mr. Matthews smiled. He gave us instructions on what we were going to do today in our first lab, then he let us get to work.

Liam sat next to me. I really don't know why though. If he hates me so much, he wouldn't sit next to me right? But yet, he still continues to do so. It's like he's asking me to bother him. I rolled my eyes at the thought.

I turned to look at him. He continued to type away on his computer. I noticed him glance at me out of the corner of his eye, and I got prepared for a battle. Mentally of course.

He sighed loudly, "Are you looking to start something?" he questioned.

"Now that you mention it, I am," I smiled. He rolled his eyes and continued to type away on his keyboard. "If you hate me so much, why do you still continue to sit next to me?" I asked. Maybe deep down inside he really does want to be around me.

The little voice piped in, "I seriously doubt that. It's only the first week of school and you've already made an enemy. Congratulations." it snickered.

"Shut up!" I retorted.

Liam looked at me funny, "I didn't say anything to you." he said, glaring at me now. I just said that out loud. Great, now I'm irritating and a lunatic.

I rolled my eyes, "Are you going to answer my question?" I asked. Liam stopped typing and looked over at me.

"Will you stop asking me questions if I answer you?" he asked.

I shrugged my shoulders, "I don't know. I guess it depends on your answer." I smiled. For once, since I've met Liam, he actually smiled. He has such a beautiful smile. Seeing it made those butterflies come back up into my stomach, making me smile more. Sadly, his smile quickly faded away.

He sighed and shrugged his shoulders, "Because I want to," he stated simply. I was kind of shocked by his answer. Scratch that. More like extremely shocked by his answer. "Ha! Take that bitch" I thought to the little voice in my head. I felt my eyebrows furrow as I stared at him, confused.

"What?" he asked.

"You hate me. Why would you want to be near someone you hate?"

"I don't hate you," he said pausing for a moment. "I don't particularly like you, but I can tolerate you. You irritate the shit out of me and you are a grade-A pain in my ass, but I'd rather be sitting here next to you than anywhere else." he said. My eyes widened in surprise. I was shocked. Why was he being so nice to me all of a sudden? It doesn't matter. It won't last long.

Liam smiled, "Why do you look so..." he said trailing off, trying to find the right words.

"Shocked?" I asked, completing his sentence.

He laughed, "Yeah, shocked." he said. This was the first time I ever heard him laugh. It was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. It made more and more butterflies come up into my stomach, making my giggle along with him.

I laughed, "Well, because you just complimented and insulted me in the same sentence. I don't know whether to feel hurt or flattered."

He smiled, "Feel flattered." he said. I couldn't help but blush. I turned away from him, trying to hide my face.

"Guys, back to work." Mr. Matthews says as he walks by us. Liam and I both smiled at each other before turning our attention back to our work.

"Alright class, that's it for today. We'll work on this more next Friday. Have a great weekend and I'll see you guys Monday!" Mr. Matthews announced and dismissed the class. Liam stood from his chair and quickly walked out of the room. I knew it was too good to be true. He's back to his usual self again. I sighed, picked up my things and headed out the door.
