Later.

Elua's POV.

Aang and I sit on some ice formations in the frozen wasteland outside of the village. Appa lies on his back as we sit above him. Appa rumbles and Aang sighs in sadness.
"Yeah, I liked her too," Aangs says sadly. I look over to him with sorrow. I sigh as I turn back to look out at the ocean, I squint my eyes as I see something black in the water. I gasp as I realize what it is, a Fire Navy ship and it's heading toward the village.
"Aang, look!" I shout as I point to the ship. He looks in the direction I'm pointing in and gasps.

"The village!" He says as we slide down off the ice.
"Appa, wait here!" I shout as we run towards the village. As we run I look to my right and see Penguins.
"Aang! Penguins!" I say. He looks at the Penguins and understands what I mean, we quickly jump on a Penguin so we'll get to the village faster. When we get to the village the Penguins stop and kick us off. I see a teenage Fire Nation boy and a few soldiers behind him.
"Hey, Katara. Hey, Sokka." Aang says.

"Hi, Elua, Aang. Thanks for coming." Sokka says dryly. I look over to the teen and he glares at me, I get ready to defend the villagers.
"Looking for us?" I ask him, looks at me shocked.
"You're the Airbender?" He asks. "You're the Avatar?" He questions. I feel everyone stare at me in shock.
"No, but he is," I say as I jerk my head towards Aang.
"Aang?" Katara asks shocked.
"No way," Sokka says in disbelief.

"I've spent years preparing for this encounter. Training. Meditating. You're just a child!" The Teen soldier yells to Aang.
"Well, you're just a teenager." Aang states. The teen's face turns to one of anger, he sends fire blast after fire blast. Aang cries out in fear. I dissipate each blast as it strikes by twirling my staff in front of him. The dissipation doesn't block the fire from reaching the villagers though and they cry out in fear. I look over to them, there were around 10 villagers and we can't protect them all. I turn the teen as I stand down, he seems surprised.

"If we go with you, will you promise to leave everyone else alone?" I ask him, after a brief pause, he straightens up and nods stiffly. A few soldiers take mine and Aang's staff and begin to lead us to the ship.
"No, Aang! Elua! Don't do this!" She shouts as she rushes forward.
"Don't worry, Katara, it'll be okay," Aangs says trying to reassure her as they push us forward roughly.
"Take care of Appa for us until we get back," I tell her with a reassuring smile.

"Head a course to the Fire Nation. I'm going home." The teen orders. We board the ship and the bowsprit rises back up. We are brought up to the deck of the ship, our hands bound behind our backs. The teen stands in front of us holding mine and Aang's staffs. An older man with some weight to him stands behind the teen.
"These will make an excellent gift for my father," The teen says as he looks at the staffs. "I suppose you wouldn't know of fathers, being raised by monks. Take the Avatar to the prison hold and take these to my quarters." He orders, shoving our staffs to the older man.

A few of the guards escort Aang somewhere. One of the guards walks over to me.
"Leave the girl." He orders before the guard has a chance to grab my arm. When everyone leaves the deck, he turns to me.
"Why were you with the Avatar?" He asks me.
"Why were you going to hurt innocent people?" I ask back, he glares.
"Answer the question," He says angrily.
"Why do I need a reason?" I ask him, he glares yet again. "...He's my brother," I answer.
"No, there's something more than that." He says shaking his head.

"I don't know what you mean," I tell him with a straight face.
"Who are you?" He asks me hostilely.
"Someone who will protect the Avatar till my dying breath," I say seriously, I stare at him for a moment. He looked familiar, it took me a few moments but I figured out why. "You look like your grandfather," I state and he looks at me confused, he goes to say something but before he can...
"The Avatar has escaped!" We hear a guard shout. I smirk. The teen runs off leaving me unsupervised. I jump over my arms so my hands aren't behind my back anymore. I turn around as I hear footsteps, I look over and see a door open and Aang runs out.
