Chapter 83

Elua's POV.

"Aang, I knew you would come," Katara says as she runs over to and hugs him.
"Uncle, I don't understand. What are you doing with the Avatar!?" Zuko shouts to his uncle.
"Saving you, that's what," Aang says as he and Zuko glare at each other angrily.
"Zuko, it is time we talked," Iroh tells his nephew. "Go help your other friends," Iroh tells us, we nod and run through the hole in the wall that Aang had created. We run into a bigger part of the cave, it was more open, there was water, and more crystals.
"We've got to find Sokka and Toph," Katara says as we run but, suddenly Azula runs in and starts to attack us. Katara attacks her fire with water, creating a bunch of steam. Azula runs through the steam and continues firing at us, we dodge each attack. She stands in the middle of us, pointing her fingers at Katara and I.

We all stand in silence when suddenly, Zuko runs out and sends a huge flame in the middle of us. We all stare at him, he looks between Azula and Aang, as though he's deciding who to side with. He sends a flame at Aang, but Aang blocks it with a gust of air. Azula fires at me and Katara, but we block her attacks with water. I see Aang send a rock into the ground, sending Zuko flying.
Katara grabs Azula's arm and foot with water, but before she can knock her down Zuko breaks her water with fire. Aang climbs out of the hole he had created and Azula starts to attack him. I run to help Aang as Katara handles Zuko. Aang makes a shield of crystals around himself, trying to protect himself, but Azula sends a blast and he goes flying into a wall. Azula starts to attack Katara again, I run over and try to help but Zuko and Azula hit Katara and I, making us both fall.

As I get up I see Dai Lee agents surround Katara, I look over to Aang and make eye contact. His eyes hold a look of sadness and I know what he has to do, I give him a reassuring look and nod to him as I run over to him as he makes a crystal dome over himself.  I stand in the between the dome, Azula, Zuko, and the Dai Lee agents. The dome of crystals begins to glow as Aang enters the Avatar State.
"He can't hide forever!" Zuko shouts to me.
"He doesn't have to!" I shout back as Aang breaks out of the dome, floating into the air as he is now in the Avatar state. I look up to Aang, but I quickly turn to Azula and see her about to send a bolt of lightning at Aang. My eyes go wide as I go to stop her, but I'm too late.

"NO!" I shout in horror as I watch the lightning hit Aang in the back and he starts to fall. I run over as Katara makes a huge wave, knocking the Dai Lee agents out of the way. I catch Aang in my arms as he falls, I stare down at him with tears rolling down my face as he goes unconscious. I angrily send a gust of air at Zuko and Azula as they start to corner us, but it doesn't do much. I shout in anger and pain as I send another gust of air at them, almost knocking Zuko down. They continue to corner me, but before they have a chance to do anything, Iroh sends a huge flame at the siblings.
"You've got to get out of here! I'll hold them off as long as I can!" Iroh shouts as he sends flame after flame at Zuko and Azula.

Later.

We were now on Appa, making our way to where Sokka and Katara's dad is. I sit Aang up as Katara tries to heal him with the spirit water. She takes the water out of its small container and it starts to glow as she sets it on his back. I stare at him with hope for a moment but, nothing happens. I let out a sob as I bring Aang into a hug.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," I whisper as I look down at my little brother. "I love you," I say one last time. I feel someone put a hand on my shoulder, I look up and see Sokka look at me with a mournful look.

He brings me into his arms as I stare at my brother's lifeless body, I shake my head as more tears roll down my face and sobs rock my body.
But suddenly, he takes a deep breath and I gasp as I move closer to him. He opens his eyes and smiles at me before he passes out again. I hug him and let myself cry again, but this time, in relief. I hear everyone sigh in relief, Sokka takes my hand into his and smiles at me.
"The Earth Kingdom...Has fallen," The King says sadly as we fly over the outer wall and into the dark night.
