Elua's POV.
We had been dragged for a few miles and now whoever captured us has tied us to what I'm guessing is a wooden pillar.
"You four have some explaining to do." I hear a man say.
"And if you don't answer all our questions, we're throwing you back in the water with the unagi." I hear a girl threaten.
"Show yourselves! Cowards!" I hear Sokka shout from beside me. The blindfolds that are over our eyes are abruptly removed, I squint my eyes as they adjust to the bright sun and see several girls in uniforms standing before us. "Who are you? Where are the men who ambushed us?" Sokka asks. I roll my eyes at his sexist question."There were no men. We ambushed you," A girl, seemingly the leader, says. "Now tell us, who are you and what are you doing here? " She asks us.
"Wait a second, there's no way that a bunch of girls took us down," Sokka says in disbelief.
"A bunch of girls, huh? The unagi's gonna eat well tonight." The girl says angrily.
"No, don't hurt him! He didn't mean it. My brother is just an idiot sometimes." Katara states.
"It's my fault. I'm sorry we came here. I wanted to ride the elephant koi." Aang informs them."How do we know you're not Fire Nation spies?" An old man asks us. "Kyoshi stayed out of the war so far and we intend to keep it that way!" He shouts.
"Wait, this island is named for Kyoshi? I know Kyoshi!" Aang exclaims.
"Ha! How could you possibly know her? Avatar Kyoshi was born here four hundred years ago. She's been dead for centuries." The man states.
"I know her because, I'm the Avatar," Aang tells him. They look at him in shock and disbelief.
"That's impossible! The last Avatar was an Airbender who disappeared a hundred years ago." The girl says."That's me!" Aang says smiling.
"Throw the imposter to the unagi!" The man orders, the warriors begin to walk toward us.
"No, wait! He can prove it!" I shout in desperation.
"Aang...Do some Airbending!" Katara whispers to Aang. Aang breaks his ropes and shoots himself into the air. He backflips over the top of the pillar, that I now can tell is a statue of Kyoshi. Aang floats down to the ground as everyone 'oohs' and 'ahhs'.
"It's true...You are the Avatar!" The man says in shock.
"Now, check this out!" Aang says as he does the same trick he did earlier. The Next Day.
I walked out of the room I slept in to see Katara and Aang eating breakfast, while Sokka pouts.
"What's wrong with you, Sokka?" I ask him, but he just grumbles.
"He's just upset because a bunch of girls kicked his butt yesterday," Katara says with a smug smile.
"They snuck up on me!" Sokka defends.
"Right. And then they kicked your butt." Katara says in amusement.
"Sneak attacks don't count!" Sokka shouts as he stands up. "Tie me up with ropes! I'll show them a thing or two. I'm not scared of any girls." He mumbles as he stomps out of the house."What's he so angry about? It's great here. They're giving us the royal treatment." Aang says happily as he takes a bite of a pastry.
"Hey, don't get too comfortable," Katara tells him.
"Katara is right, It's risky for us to stay in one place for very long," I inform Aang.
"I'm sure we'll be fine," Aang says, waving off the worry. "Besides, did you see how happy I'm making this town? They're even cleaning up that statue in my honor!" He says smiling.
"Well, it's nice to see you excited about being the Avatar," I say with a soft smile."We just hope it doesn't all go to your head," Katara tells Aang.
"Come on, you both know me better than that. I'm just a simple monk." Aang states as he stands up and goes to the window. I stand up and look down at Katara.
"Will you make sure he doesn't get into trouble for me?" I ask her.
"Of course." She says with a small smile.
"Thank you! I'll be back later," I tell her as I walk out of the house and make my way to where the girls who attacked us are.I walk into the hut-like building and see several girls training, it almost looked like a dance. One of the girls notices me and walks over.
"Hello, I just wanted to come and introduce myself," I state. "I'm Elua," I tell her as I bow to her.
"Nice to meet you, Elua," She says as she bows back. "I'm Suki. Sorry about attacking you and your friends." She says with a small smile.
"Oh, that's alright," I tell her as I wave it off. "You were protecting your home, I would have done the same thing," I inform her with a small laugh.
"I was wondering if you would teach me some of your moves?" I ask her kindly.
"I'd love to teach the Nadir some moves."A Little While Later.
Suki had shown me a few moves, and I had got the hang of them quite quickly. I block her attack and she smiles.
"Nice job," She says. We turn around as we hear footsteps and see Sokka walk into the hut.
"Sorry ladies! Didn't mean to interrupt your dance lesson," Sokka says smugly, I roll my eyes. Here we go. "I was just looking for somewhere to get a little workout?" He asks as he stretches."Well, you're in the right place," Suki tells him. "Sorry about yesterday. I didn't know that you were friends with the Avatar." She states.
"It's alright," Sokka says. Huh, I didn't expect him to say that. "I mean, normally I'd hold a grudge, but seeing as you guys are a bunch of girls, I'll make an exception," Sokka tells her. Oh, there it is. I sigh as I shake my head at his sexist comments.
"I should hope so. A big strong man like you? We wouldn't stand a chance." Suki sayssarcastically as she smirks."True. But, don't feel bad. After all, I'm the best warrior in my village." Sokka says, not catching the sarcasm. I thought he was the only warrior in their village?
"Wow! Best warrior, huh?" Suki asks, seeming to have an idea in mind. "Maybe you'd be kind enough to give us a little demonstration," She says, Sokka looks at her a little shocked.
"Oh...well...I mean...I..." Sokka stutters.
"Come on, girls! Wouldn't you like him to show us some moves?" Suki asks them, they giggle and nod.I smirk, seeing this as an opportunity to prove him wrong.
"Yeah, come on Sokka! Show them some moves," I say with a small smirk. "You can even test them on me! Don't worry I won't use my bending." I tell him, he crosses his arms.
"Well, if that's what you want, I'd be happy to," Sokka says smugly. "Alright, you stand over there," He says pointing in front of him. I step to where he is pointing. He grabs my shoulders and pushes me back a little."This may be a little tough, but try to block me." He tells me. He throws a punch, but I block it, my stance disinterested and confident against Sokka's ego. "Heh heh...good. Of course, I was going easy on you." He says rubbing his arm.
"Of course," I say sarcastically.
"Let's see if you can handle this!" He says as he lunges at me. I catch him under his leg and toss him towards the door."That does it!" He shouts. Sokka gets up and lunges again at me, I move to the side with an airbending move and he almost hits Suki. She grabs him by the arm, spins him around in circles, ties his arm to his foot with his own belt, and throws him to the floor.
"Anything else you want to show us?" Suki asks him as his faces flushes red in humiliation as they laugh. He unties his belt from his foot and storms out of the hut.
