Stella's Point-of-View

Let me tell you, it felt so good to get a peaceful night's sleep. Usually I'm up at midnight or sometime around then, aicking some bad guy's butt. Well, me and the rest of the girls.

I rolled out of bed and looked through my window. I never regretted painting my room a bright yellow and having floor to ceiling windows.

Of course nobody could see in. Only I could see out.

My room was small. It was the smallest out of all of the girls' rooms. But it was the coziest. My room had a white Victorian style desk with a white chair. My twin bed with the sun emoji sheets lay against the windows, so when I woke up I always had the perfect view. My closet was painfully small. It mostly consisted of fancy dresses, to wear to galas that the government hosts. Also squeezed into the closet were my many pairs of tan combat boots and my combat clothes. Basically, I just wore a full piece jumper that was white and golden. On one of the walls I had an art wall, where I turned my drawings into paintings. And underneath my bed, there were lots of books. Mostly my favorites. Divergent, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Twilight, and The Narnia Chronicles.

And that was it.

The desk had a lot of my drawings on them. I loved drawing for as long as I could remember. Also on it was my flashlight from last night and my glass of water.

Like I said before, small room, not a lot of space. And with the threat of us being discovered, it was always good to keep things small.

Just outside of my room was my training room. That was where I practiced my power. I practiced bending light, forming lasers, changing the colors of objects, reflection, refraction, my appearance, and blinding people. The room was a bright white and had some objects inside that I could practice on.

I walked over to the closet and changed out of my "Shine bright like a diamond" pajamas. I threw on my yellow and white Elites t-shirt and leggings. I walked outside to find Alex already dressed and making breakfast.

"How'd you sleep, Alexandra?" I asked.

"Good, for once!" She laughed.

I noticed she was wearing her old prep school shirt. Henderson Prep.

"Do you ever miss it?" I asked suddenly.

"What?" She asked.

"Our old lives. I know I do. My parents probably think I hate them. And the fact that I'll never be able to see them again..." I trailed off.

"I miss going to Henderson Prep. I mean, sure, it was boarding school, and sure, my parents hated the sight of me, but they wanted to best for me," she said.

It was awkward silence until Elise walked in.

"Hey guys!" She said cheerfully.

Alex and I stared at each other.

"Oh...did I...interrupt something?" She asked

"Nope," Alex said.

"Well anyway, I just wanted to say that we are going out for lunch in the real world! I talked to the government, and they said we could have the day off!"

"That's great news!" I said. I tried to be as happy as possible.

"The rest of the girls are ready to go. Come on!" Elise said.

Alexandra took her pan off the stove and raced towards the door. We had to leave through secret door so we wouldn't be discovered. We had a ton of them all over the house. They lead to spots all over the city. There were so many escape routes, we decided to letter them. We had 26 exits.

Today we left through Exit B and we walked along the streets of New York City. It truly was beautiful.

Minus all of the horrors that take place there.

After a while, we came across our favorite restaurant. It was the only one we had ever eaten at.

The Scene!

It wasn't very fancy, but it was enough. It's not like we ate out every night. Alex cooked a lot for us, and we would try sometimes too. Rebecca had almost burnt down the house multiple times. You know, for fire being her element, it kinda got funny. But in order to save our sanity and our lives, she is now banned forever from the kitchen. It's not like anything she made tasted very good anyway. The girls and I speculated that some of it was poisonous. We never told her that though.

A group of boys walked by us, loud as heck. I've never had a boyfriend, never kissed anyone, never been in love.

It's just how being a superhero goes.

I zoned out as everyone ordered, not really hungry myself. I was staring at Raiyn's empty water glass.

"Let me get you some more of that," the waitress said. As she turned around to get the pitcher, Raiyn snapped her fingers under the table and her glass automatically refilled. When the waitress turned back around she made a face.

"That's funny. I thought it was empty. Must be seeing things," she said. When she walked away, Lyra-Rose kicked her from under the table. Amber mouthed to her,"You could have gotten us exposed!"

Raiyn just shrugged.

We were arguing about politics when about five minutes later, Alex got a text. Lyra-Rose peered over her shoulder and swore.

"But they promised..." she whined.

"Bad guys don't take a vacation. Let's go," Elise said.

I quickly realized that our day off had quickly been taken away from us.

"Let's go girls," Rebecca said.

And with that, we headed towards the crime scene.
