Alexandra's Point-of-View
I must have been really tired last night, because I slept until past 10, and that never ever happens. When I opened my eyes, I saw a black nike sweatshirt. I pulled my head away from where it was laying. Apparently, I slept with my head on Parker's chest last night. But the question was, how did I end up here?
When I looked around, I saw Amber and Rowan and Elise and Micah in similar positions.
I was about to rest my head again, when Parker suddenly woke up. When he opened his eyes, I could see the shock in those dark eyes of his.
"Alex, you look the most beautiful in the morning," he said. He ran a hand softly through my hair.
"Parker, how did we end up here last night?" I asked.
He came to his senses. "To be honest, I don't remember. It's all blurred into one big mess."
"And how come only the couples are still in this room?" I asked.
"Well, I don't know what to say to that," Parker responded.
I stopped to listen for a moment. Silence.
"Do you hear that?" I asked Parker.
He listened. "It's so...quiet," he responded.
"Yes, and someone has to help me make breakfast. And that's you," I said. I grabbed his arm and yanked him up from the couch. We stepped over the pillows laying on the floor from last night and stumbled into the kitchen.
"What are we making today?" He asked me.
"I'm thinking blueberry waffles and scrambled eggs. Oh, and of course, the orange juice!" I said.
"Perfect! I'll go set the table in the dining room, and you can cook," he started to run off.
I grabbed his hand and pulled him close. "You are helping me cook," I said. I let go of his hand and began the process.
"Could you get me the eggs from the fridge and the pan from the cupboard? Oh, and while you're at it, the waffle maker, Bisquick, and the blueberries? Please?" I asked.
"Yes ma'am, drill sergeant Alexandra," Parker joked. He complied with my orders and got me the supplies.
"Now, you will handle the waffle maker and I will do the eggs. You just plug it in, wait for it to heat up, and pour the batter in," I said.
"Should be easy enough," he responded. Boy, was this going to be hilarious.
While we cooked, we talked about our pasts and our hopes and dreams. By the time we finished, we had 14 plates full of blueberry waffles and scrambled eggs.
"Now we can go set the table," I said. We grabbed as many plates, forks, napkins, and knives as we could carry.
"Oh my gosh! I forgot the orange juice! Be right back!" I said. I ran and got the orange juice quickly. There wasn't much left, but it would do for this morning. I raced back towards the dining room and filled all of the glasses. Everything was set out, so all we needed were people to eat the food.
"When will they come in?" Parker wondered aloud.
"Soon. They'll it smell too," I said.
Suddenly, being alone in a room with Parker, and everyone else was asleep seemed terrifying.
"Alex..." Parker whispered. He reached for my hand and brought it to his lips.
"Parker..." I warned. I was taught better than this.
He let go of my hand, only to reach for it again to hold.
"Parker," I said again, looking down at my tiny hand clasped in his," I've never dated anyone before."
To my surprise, he looked at me and said," Me too."
"I guess that makes two of us then," I smiled. I was radiating with happiness.
I was starting to hope nobody would come and interrupt this perfect moment, but then Stella walked in, with Hayden trailing her.
"Awww, thanks so much for breakfast, Alex!" Stella said as she hugged me. She and Hayden sat down and started chowing down. Parker and I looked at each other briefly, and then sat down to eat our own meals.
Everyone came in at different times. I don't know how she did it, but Raiyn was the last one to walk in and eat, at four in the afternoon! I couldn't do that even if I tried!
"Guys," Liam said once we were all together,"I believe we have something to discuss." Everyone sucked in a breath.
"Hey, does anyone actually remember what went on last night? I can't seem to remember," I said.
"It was Becca. She was being tortured. And uhhh, Ri," Lyra-Rose stopped here.
"She's dead," Rowan said.
I sucked in a breath as I remembered the events of last night.
I heard Elise curse under her breath.
"Why don't we go to the den and discuss? That might make things a little easier. We'll clean up later," I said. Everyone got up and we quickly walked to the den. Once everyone was seated, Raiyn and Liam got up.
"So guys, we think we figured out where the killer's hideout is!" Raiyn said. Everyone erupted into clapping.
"It is an old jeweler's factory. If we work hard enough, we can get there by tomorrow night, and take it by storm!" Liam said. Once again, everyone clapped.
"I have an announcement," Parker said suddenly.
Everyone grew quiet and looked at him.
"I knew that what was going to happen on the dates," he confessed.I gasped.
"My power is intelligence, and the power to see the future. When I was on my date with Alexandra, my head started hurting, which is a sure sign that I'm seeing the future. I saw Elise and Micah on the horse, Becca and Hunter running away from the man on the subway, Amber and Rowan getting shot at, and Alex and I jumping off a building," he continued.
"So why didn't you tell us!" I yelled. I was just starting to trust this guy.
"Alex, if you remembered, I got this about a minute and a half before we jumped off the building! Plus, I really really liked you and I didn't want to ruin our date! I'm so sorry and I hope you can forgive me," Parker pleaded with me.
Raiyn fangirled on the floor.
"I forgive you," I said," but next time tell me."
"Will do. Anyway, I think it's strange because I never saw Rebecca getting kidnapped or murdered," he finished.
"Guys," Stella said suddenly," I think we should attack the base tomorrow night. It seems smart."
Everyone suddenly nodded at this thought. Stella was the peacemaker of the group, so it was kind of weird to see her wanting to attack someone.
"You guys realize this is going to take a lot of planning, and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT, right?" Micah asked.
"I think that we should also check for Becca. If she's not alive, then at least she deserves a proper burial," Hunter said.
"Agreed," I said.
"Agreed," Elise echoed.
"For Becca?" Raiyn asked.
"For Becca," we all echoed in unison. And with that, we started on our master plan. We were going to save the city, or we were going to die trying.
