Raiyn's Point-of-View
After everyone left from the library, I lifted my head up. Due to my strange sleeping habits, everyone usually leaves me alone. They don't try to wake me up or move me, which is so nice, but today it really came in handy.
I got up from my seat and grabbed the computer. With the flash drive still inside, I tiptoed down the hall to the kitchen. I quietly opened the pantry door and grabbed a bag of chips. Nothing like food to boost your energy.
My room was the farthest one from the kitchen, so I had to walk by everyone else's rooms. I stepped around all of the creaks in the floor. I was just about to make it past Rebecca's room, when I accidentally stepped on one.
And it was really loud.
I ran as lightly and as quickly as I could to my room. Once I got in and shut the door I sighed.
"Time to read up on everything and everyone," I said. I pulled out my computer and began my long read. After what seemed like eternity, I finally finished.
"So that's what they're hiding in Area 51!" I whisper-shouted. I went to scroll down to read more, but I quickly found out that I had read everything.
"Time to go track down a killer," I said. I walked into the closet and opened my evidence wall. I was about halfway through re-examining a piece when I heard a noise. I spun around in my chair to find Liam, looking at my wall.
"Dang, nice room," he said.
I stood to shoo him out. "You shouldn't be in here," I said.
"You should really tell the others about this place," He said.
"No I shouldn't. Now get out of my room," I warned.
Liam must have noticed something on my wall, because one moment he was standing in the doorway, and the next he was looking at a fabric piece.
"It has a line down the middle, a circle encasing it, and a triangle covering it all. That's strange," he said.
"Yeah, that is strange. Now get out," I said.
"Why is there a picture of us here?" He asked. He pointed at the Red Eye Brother's picture.
I said nothing.
Liam came to a startling revelation. "You...you think it's us, don't you? All this time, you've put on a warm front, when really you're just as cold as ice. You know what? Why am I wasting my time here when I should be going? It was nice knowing you, Raiyn."
He began to walk out. I ran to him and grabbed his hand.
"Let me explain," I pleaded," we thought that you guys were the murderers originally. Now, we trust you guys. And we hope you trust us. Now please, stay."
He turned around and looked at me. "You are forgiven, as long as I can help," he said.
I rolled my eyes. "Let's go," I said.
We walked over to my bed and sat down. I handed him my tablet and told him to research the fabric scrap we found. I grabbed my computer and started researching a tarantula tattoo. After a few minutes, I had found something a little interesting.
"The infamous tarantula tattoo is well known by all gangs. They are one of the most brutal and unforgiving gangs ever known to exist. They are known to pledge their allegiance by stabbing an innocent passerby. No one has been able to infiltrate their group," I read aloud.
Liam and I looked at each other as we came to the same, startling revelation.
Rebecca was dead.
"Hey, I found something too," Liam said. I leaned over his shoulder so I could get a better look.
"That symbol stands for two things. One, is for a children's book series. So we know for a definite that isn't it. And two, it stands for a famous jeweler whose shop was right here, in New York City! His jewelry warehouse is currently empty in Queens," Liam read.
"I think we found our place," I said. Liam and I high-fived.
"Should we go tell the others, or let them sleep?" Liam asked.
I smiled. "I don't see anything wrong with it."
"Let's go then!" He said.
Liam and I walked towards Becca's room to wake up the boys. When I walked in, I saw Cameron and Parker sleeping on the couch, Rowan, Micah, and Hayden sleeping on the floor, and Hunter sleeping in Rebecca's bed. I made a mental note to tell her boys had been in her room.
Liam ran around and shook everyone awake. "Guys," I said," we have some really big news. Meet us in the living room!"
Then I ran to all of the girl's rooms and shook them awake. When they heard we had big news, the couldn't have moved faster.
"Alright," Liam said once we were in the living room," we have some big news."
"You said that already," Hayden snapped.
"Can we go back to sleep yet?" Alexandra asked. She had her head snuggled into Parker's chest. Elise was already snoring with her head on Micah's shoulder and he had his arm around her. Amber and Rowan were holding hands, looking at Liam and I with wide open eyes.
"So, we figured out where to attack the mass murderer!" I said,"it is the-"
"Hey guys, has that fireplace always been there?" Lyra-Rose interrupted.
"No, I don't believe so," Stella said.
Just then a fire lit itself in the fireplace. I reached back for something to stabilize me, and accidentally grabbed Liam. We stumbled backwards and landed awkwardly in a chair together.
"Guys, we need to get out of here! Something is totally wron-" Rowan stopped.
The fire moved from the fireplace to right in front of the television. It grew and flickered right before our eyes. Then, it froze and turned a greenish blue color.
We all stayed where we were, paralyzed and stricken with pure fear.
The flame suddenly lit up with motion. It showed Rebecca, tied up.
"HELP!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!! ARRRGH!!!" She screamed. We all watched as she was strapped to a table and beaten with a belt for information. A raspy voice hissed,"Where are your friends?"
"I don't know!" She cried. She was hit with the belt, and then her assassin began whipping her.
"Tell me where they are!" The voice hissed again.
"ARRRGHHH!!" She screamed. Her hands were forced shut, so she couldn't use her powers. She looked like she was in pure agony.
Another image of her appeared, with her being chased by a snake and screaming. A terrifying one of her tied up appeared. Then one appeared of her yelling for help and being injected with a liquid. Another one became her laying on the floor, in a puddle of her own blood.
"Reveal yourselves, Elites, and you will be rewarded," the voice hissed again.
And with that, the fire and the fireplace disappeared.
The room was silent for a while. Hunter looked so angry, distraught, and disgusted, that it was hard to believe he could feel all those emotions at once. Elise was gripping tightly onto Micah, Alex had fallen asleep on Parker, Amber and Rowan were staring intently at one another with glittering eyes. Hayden and Cameron had fallen asleep on the floor, and so had Lyra-Rose and Stella.
Looking around at the others, I quickly remembered the fact that I was sharing a seat with Liam. With one glance at him, I jumped up and began walking to bed. Stella, Lyra-Rose, Hayden and Cameron, who had been sleeping, were coming with me, along with Liam and Hunter.
This could wait until tomorrow. For now, sleep was beckoning me.
