The Elites

Chapter 21

Stella's Point-of-View

I was in the bathroom putting my hair back in a ponytail. My caramel colored hair was so long that is was almost unreal. It reached a little past my waist, which was rare for a superhero like me. I had on my combat outfit and was ready to go. The Elites and The Red Eye Brothers were all getting ready to fight some serious crime. We were about to take down the mass murderer.

I was singing softly when Raiyn poked her head in. "You ready, Stella?" She asked.

"Let's go!" I said. I walked out of the bathroom to find the rest of The Elites and some of The Red Eye Brothers waiting in the living room. Amber and Rowan were holding hands, and so were Alexandra and Parker and Elise and Micah. I walked towards Raiyn and Lyra-Rose. Lyra-Rose was wearing a grim face.

"Are you guys ready?" I asked uneasily.

"You know," Lyra-Rose started," we could die from this. There is a possibility that we could."

Everyone in the room looked at each other. Alex looked on the verge of tears.

Just then, Hayden, Hunter, Liam, and Cameron walked into the room.

"We ready?" Rowan asked.

"Just another mass murderer," Hayden said.

"Then why is everyone so nervous?" I asked.

"Well, usually we don't have one Elite's life at stake," Elise said. Hunter looked pained.

"She's most likely dead by now," Micah added.

There was silence.

"Let's just do our job: defeat the mass murderer and all of their henchmen. Then, if we have time, we'll rescue Rebecca," Parker said.

"Time to go. Out through the front door. We're taking the subway!" Liam said.

We stopped a few buildings before the abandoned factory. You could hear the collective breath being sucked in.

"Alexandra, Parker, you're up," I said.

We took off towards the side of the building, where Amber transformed herself and us into the shadow of the building.
