Business as usual

Annie wrapped her arms tighter around Jared's neck, pulling his face down into her own neck as he thrust harder. She bit down on her lip as warm waves rolled over her. She wrapped her legs around his waist, trying to pull him in more and moaned. They had been at Eden's house for a month and this was the first time they had been completely alone. Eden was in town with Marcus, speaking to an informant about a task they needed to complete; just because God was possessed, didn't mean that work would stop. The supernatural waited for no one. The thought of dealing with something as mundane as an unruly Supernatural seemed like a blessing compared to the plans she had overheard about storming Heaven to fight God and something powerful enough to possess him. All of that could wait; for now, all she cared about was the feeling of her and Jared entwined.

Jared reared up, arcing his back so he could stare into her eyes as his body began to tense; veins and wiry muscles flaring up. She knew this look, he was close. She moved her hands from his neck, sliding them down to his waist and pulling him forward encouragingly as her own body tensed. His eyes closed and he threw his head back. His body shook, vibrating and twitching as his wings burst from his back. Annie pulled him down into a clench as she tightened her legs around his waist; almost unable to physically deal with the feelings that washed over her body. Sex with the divine was a whole different world of sensation.

Jared's wings drooped down, creating a feathery cocoon for the two as Annie took several deep breaths. She looked up into his half-closed eyes and smiled, pulling him down for a kiss.

"I'm gonna need a second," She huffed sweat dripping down her temple.

Jared's wings moved out, vibrating as he stretched the muscles within. He retracted them, sliding them back within his back as he rolled onto his side, pulling Annie with him. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Take all the time you need," He said, smiling. "We aren't going to get much alone time in the days to come.

Those words sent a shiver down her spine, the tone sending ice through her veins. They were all in terrible danger, she knew this but had been choosing to ignore it. There was a high possibility that she could lose Jared. She shook the thought away and pulled him in tighter, pressing his face to her chest. Much had changed since they'd first arrived. Lucifer's announcement about God's possession had shattered the brothers. Their father was under the influence of something called a Dissonant One. Annie had no idea what it was but she knew it was powerful. When she'd asked Jared to explain it he'd refused telling her the knowledge was dangerous to humans. Jared was nothing but open and honest with her about almost everything, for him to keep something from her must mean it was serious.

When she'd pressed for more answers about why they were here in Australia if they weren't going to summon Azrael and Abaddon he'd told her what little they had been able to gather. The Dissonant One, under the guise of God, had pitted the brothers against Lucifer, using their natural distrust of him to convince Gabriel that he was plotting something big. That was all he had needed. That was what had led Gabriel to show up at their house. Of course, Lucifer wasn't actually planning anything. The Dissonant One knew if they confronted each other a fight would ensue and, knowing Lucifer possessed the Spear of Longinus, one or more of them would be injured or killed. If they became desperate enough, they might just summon the two brothers, who in turn could be manipulated with Holy Command to destroy the planet. It was this point that had caused suspicion among the brothers, the command to summon them; it was also why Jared had been in Heaven for so long after his wound; intelligence gathering.

At this point in time they had no real plans to deal with the Dissonant One. As far as they knew It had no idea they knew anything; although the longer they stayed here and didn't summon the brothers the more suspicious it would become. For now, it was business as usual. Lucifer and Lilith had stayed on at the house. Adramelech and Xaphan had returned to Hell to help keep things in order while they were away. Lucifer returned now and then for reasons he refused to divulge and for the most part Lilith kept to herself. The rest of the brothers had gone their own way, back to their duties; all except for Marcus who stayed with them; although Annie suspected he stayed for Lilith. The two of them would spend a lot of time together down on the beach.
