Annie sat in her backyard, taking a long draw on a joint-Marcus had left it for her while he and Paul went to scope out the Vampire nest. She was watching Jared, who was butt ass naked, doing some weird looking Tai-Chi, that he was clearly making up on the spot as an excuse to be naked again.

"What are you doing?" she said, coughing out a cloud of pungent smoke.

Jared didn't break his movements. He slowly swung his hand in a horizontal arc, moving his body with it. "I'm channelling my inner Swayze."

Annie laughed and took another drag. "You watched Roadhouse after I fell asleep, didn't you?"

Jared dropped his hands and turned to face her. "Yes, yes, I did."

Annie chuckled and held the joint out to him. He jogged over, giving Annie a good reason to go red and turn away. He took the joint and treated his lungs to a good thrashing.

"We need music," He said as he wandered over to Annie's portable Bluetooth speaker. He connected his phone to it and opened his personal playlist. Cyndi Lauper's Girls just wanna have fun started playing and Jared leapt out into the yard, spinning and punching the air.

"Are you doing the Footloose dance?"

Jared started punching the air with more energy. "Don't throw off my rhythm. I need to dance; dance through the neighbourhood."

Annie laughed and shook her head. It took a few seconds for his sentence to register in her brain. Once it did, it took a few more seconds for it to sink in that he was being serious. Annie's eyes went wide as she finally realized what was happening.

She shot to her feet. "Jared no!"

It was too late though. He had already scooped up the speaker and his phone and was running down the side of the mountain; butt naked. Annie heard an old lady scream and a man whistle. It was going to be a hell of a day.

She jumped the back fence, sliding down the side of the hill. Dirt and small stones flew up and scattered as she descended and she squinted her eyes against the dust. She could see Jared on the road further down; he'd stopped traffic already. He jumped to the left, then took a step to the right, then he started thrusting his pelvis at the cars. Oh god, he's doing the Time Warp.

Annie made it to the street just as he ran off; heading further down, towards the city. She raced past the horrified and excited crowd, shouting apologies as she did. This is not the way she saw this day going. She could hear the music up ahead and see Jared's ass as he skipped down the road.

"Jared, for fuck sake, stop!"

"Never!"

Annie pushed harder, trying to reach him before he made it to town and got arrested. You'd think someone sprinting could easily catch up to someone who was skipping lazily down the road. For every step Annie took, Jared seemed to skip ahead three. It wasn't long until he reached the winding road leading into town.

"Oh god, no!" Annie groaned. She slowed to a jog and thought for a minute. She could cut through property next to him and maybe cut him off; assuming he wasn't already in the centre of town, flashing his shit.

She could hear the bassy thumping of Heart's Barracuda playing on the other side of the house beside her. She made her choice. She turned and sprinted into the front yard. There was a high fence separating both the next house along and the back yard. She jumped into the property dividing fence, using it as a springboard to clear the fence into the backyard. All those Parkour classes were finally paying off.
