Chapter 13 - Change

As time passes...

"I'm finished with the bath now"

"O-okay..."

Today as well, Miyoko enters the living room scantily dressed. She sits down next to me.

"Hmm, are they doing anything interesting on TV, today?"

(I-I'm not really sure about her walking around dressed like that..)

She must have been this way from before I moved in, I mean sure that's okay and all but now there's a guy living with them the least she could do is be aware that I'm a guy and...never mind.

(Besides, it wouldn't be nice of me to tell her to change her habits, just because I'm here, wouldn't it, I'll just ignore it and pretend something like this is normal I'd probably get used to it, sooner or later...eventually.)

"Ahh...they're only showing the news, right no...boring stuff."

"Hm? Mina, is something wrong?"

"N-no, it's nothing. Alright, I'll go take a bath now..."

Having trouble knowing where to look, I get off the sofa, when suddenly.

"Eekk!, Wh-what was that noise..?"

"I'm not sure..."

Hearing a sudden commotion, Miyoko and I exchange looks.

"It seemed to be coming...from the yard, near the storage."

"Yeah."

All the other residences are in their rooms.

There shouldn't be any commotion at this time of night.

"C-could it be...a burglar?! She said worriedly.

"It might be, stay here I'll go check it out." I said while looking at her and the way she is dressed.

"D-do you really think it's a burglar?" she asked.

"I-I don't know...but stay here just to be safe."

"I can fight you know."

"I know you can but fighting like that?" I said averting my gaze as we were slowly approaching the source of the noise.

"What's wrong with the way I dress?!" she roared.

"Shhh...." I shushed while she immediately covered her mouth.

"Let me count the ways, your camisson is way too thin I can almost see through it you know, your short is way too short your exposing a lot of skin if the burglar see you it'll probably escalate to something worst, and besides we don't know how many they are so I suggest you stay here, get your phone and wait for me."

She pouts and blush as she tried to cover herself with her hand.

(Y-yeah like that's going to help.)

"F-fine!" she pouts as she crouch behind the couch.

I slowly peeped out my head behind the couch cover to see where the noise is coming from, it seems that it's coming from the garden.

(what should I do if there's a lot of them?!)

(I can handle one but it's kinda dark I'm at a disadvantage if they had weapon in them, it's probably a bad idea to rush in worst if they have a gun...)

"Mina, what's wrong are you going or not?"

"I'm thinking..."

"Alright...I'm going to rush them."

"Are you sure, that's a good idea?!" she said worriedly.

I immediately jump up from our cover and rushed towards the garden

When...

"Meowrrgggrrr!!!"

"Holy shit !!!"

"Mina!!!"

The culprit jumps and bounce on to my chest, which caught me by surprised and immediately scurried and jumps off our fence.

Laying on the floor near the door I laughed out of our silliness

"Was that a cat?!"

"Yeah, ahahahahaha, darn it that scared me."

There is no sign of a thief anywhere....

"Ehehehe." She laughed it off lightly.

(I feel like I just lost years off my life...)

(but, well, I'm glad it wasn't a burglar...)

When we become aware of the time, it is already close to midnight.

"Ahh...well that was a waste of energy..."

"I feel really tired...we should sleep now..."

"What's the matter, Miyoko you've been staring at me for quite some time now,"

"Hm? Ah, yes! L-let's do that!"

(What's up with her...?)

Her face is a shade red.

"Are you okay?"

Anxiously, she glances up at me.

"Mina...?"

"Hm?"

She suddenly smiles sheepishly.

"You're pretty reliable."

"I am?"

"T-that's all!"

"A-alright! Goodnight!"

As if to hide her blushing face, she rushes off to her room.

"Why you mad though?"
