Chapter 21 - The Omen

After returning to the Famille'

We work together in an attempt to carry the full length mirror in her room.

"Put it in gently, gently..."

"Whoa! Miyoko, Stop! Watch the corner!"

"But, it's heavy! Mina, can I let go now?"

"What? No,no! You can't, net yet Miyoko."

Causing a ruckus until the end, we finally manage to get the mirror into her room.

"Hey, good job! I couldn't have done it without you, Mina!"

"If I ever want to buy anything else, I'll rely on you again."

"Fine...but at least make it something lighter than that." (that thing worth a ton)

"Agreed!" she smiled.

"Phew...I can finally catch my breath..."

I throw myself onto the living room sofa.

(That was quite an ordeal...but our stroll was really fun.)

(Still, though, she's acting weird today...)

Blushing, getting embarrassed...it was kind of cute...mainly she just picks on and make fun of me. She was kinda cute.

(But...)

I'm worried about her sullen expression at the sports store and movie theatre.

(What was that all about?)

I linger on the day's events...

"Mina."

"Oh, Hi Raika."

"Did something good happen? You've been grinning on your own for awhile."

"huh?"

(Was my expression that obvious...?)

Well, I guess there is no need to hide it.

I tell Raika about my shopping trip with Miyoko.

"Hmmm, I see."

"You really enjoyed yourself."

Raika listens to my story, nodding and smiling softly.

"It was a good day for you."

"By the way..."

"Yes?"

"Mina, are you...in love with Miyoko?"

"What?!"

"Well, you really seem to enjoy talking about Miyoko."

"In love?! More like just thankful she's not pulling prank on me, or tormenting me in general."

(My heart had been pounding when we were shopping together...)

(Only because it's better to get together with her than being against her,)

Raika's smile seems to see right through me.

"Ohoh, is that really all, when you were shopping with Miyoko, what was she like?"

"What was she like...?"

"Well, she seemed to be having a good time."

"Was she different than her usual self?"

(Well yeah, she's not making fun of me.)

"Was she suddenly blushing and acting embarrassed?" she asked sneering
