Chapter 16 - Suspenseful Days

The moment after I feel relieved that she had forgiven me...

She gives me her condition.

"The condition....is that you go shopping with me."

"Sh-shopping...?"

She chuckles and looks at me.

"I want to buy a new full-length mirror for my room."

"But, it's large and heavy so I can't carry it on my own."

(A full length mirror, huh.)

(Wait, isn't that the really heavy type?)

She grins.

"I wonder if someone will carry if for me, instead?"

"Fine...I'll carry if for you..."

"Thanks I know, you'd volunteer."

(Because you're blackmailing me.)

I'm expecting anything to including an intense physical labour, but if it'll earn me her forgiveness...

"Then let's go shopping next Sunday!"

"Sure..."

And so it is decided that I will go shopping with her, this coming Sunday.

But her punishments does not end there,

The day after the underwear incident.

It seemed like any other day, with me and Miyoko eating and relaxing in the living room.

However...

"Hey, Mina. Can you change cleaning shifts with me, today?"

"Huh? But I was planning on doing my college report..."

"Hmm...?"

"Everyone! Guess what Mina did, yesterday!"

"Hey! M-Miyoko?!"

"He suddenly came into my room!~"

"I'm sorry! Please, allow me to do the cleaning!"

And in such ways, the peeping incident was used as material to blackmail me...

(If they find out that about that incident...Yomiko's going to scold me again. And they probably going to hate me this time.)

As I scratch my head, Raika approaches from the side.

"What's wrong Mina, you seems troubled." She asked.

"Oh, Raika."

"Having problems? I'll listen if you want?"

"Um, well..."

Am I supposed to tell her that Miyoko is blackmailing me? Of course I can't.

"N-no, I'm alright..It's nothing really."

"Well, is that so? Feel free to ask for my advice whenever you want, alright?"

(Raika really is a nice person.)

(Besides, from what I've heard, she listens to the other's problems often...)

Suddenly, a kind expression crosses Raika's face.

"By the way..."

"Recently, you and Miyoko have changed a lot, Mina."

"What?!"

"Miyoko and i...have changed a lot...?"

"Yes, In a very good way."

"Wh-what do yo mean?"

"Can't you tell...?"

"I can't..."

Raika gives me a puzzled smile.

"Hmm...I guess the journey ahead is still long."

"Besides, there's a lot to overcome."

"Um, Raika, what are you talking about..?"

"Hey, Mina and Raika, what are you guys talking about?"

"Oh, hey it's her!"

(Speak of the trouble maker...)

"Hey! Don't treat people like they're ghosts!"

"Mina was hitting on me by saying I was cute." Teased Raika.

"Waah?! Hey! Raika?!"

"Ehh? Really? Mina!"

"N-no, I didn't."

"Then you don't think Raika is cute?" probed Miyoko

"Eh?! O-of course...I do, think she's cute!" (heck she's gorgeous.)

"Hmm? Mina...do you have feelings for Raika?""

"N-no! Like I said, it's not like I don't like her, it just I think she's way out of my league."

"Uhm...well.."

Stuck for words, I cas a quick glance to Raika,

And then...

"The journey ahead truly does seem long..."

"Eh?!"

I'm surprised at Raika's sudden words.

"W-what do you mean, the journey ahead seems long..?"

"Who knows...?"

"Well, I'm going back to my room."

Raika spins around and head back to her room.

(She's gone.)

(I wonder what does she mean by that...?)

After she left.

Miyoko looks at me, as if she wants to say something.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Nothing!"

She abrubtly turns around and also heads back to her room.

(she...looks a little upset.)
