(It's been a month since then...)

It came time for the track and field season to end, and Miyoko retired.

(But that does mean no more morning practice...So we can relax a bit.)

Or so I thought...

One morning.

"Ah! Good morning, Mina!"

"M-Mor..."

"See ya!"

"Eh? W-wait, Miyoko what about breakfast?"

"I've had it already!"

"That's early! You don't have track anymore, where are you going so early?"

"I've got something I have to do!"

And with that she dashes towards the front door.

"If you'd told me I would have gotten up early too and given you a lift on my scooter."

"Ehehehe, Thanks, but I'll be fine!"

"And I'd feel bad if you gave me a lift this time too."

"See ya later!"

She smiles and with a wave of her hand she's gone like the wind.

"I did want to spend some relaxing time with her..."

(But never mind...I'll see her tonight.)

However...

Dinner that night.

Everyone gathers at the dining table as per usual, but...

"Huh? Where's Miyoko?"

"She told me she would be late so won't be needing dinner." Explained Rei.

"Eh? Oh..."

"It's not like she's not to be home for dinner." Added Raika.

"You're right."

Even later that night.

"What time is it? I feel a bit tired, I should sleep soon..."

Then.

"Phew...Finally made it back home..."

She comes home looking so tired she might fall asleep at any second.

"Welcome back, Miyoko."

"Hello Mina~."

"I'm really tired so I'm going to go straight to bed. Good night..."

"Eh? O-oh...Good night."

She looks unsteady on her feet as she drifts up the stairs.

I stare blankly at her as she goes.

(We had hardly any time together today...)

(She seems so busy lately...I wonder what she's up to?)

Then on day.

"I've got days off today... I think I'll watch TV."

I stretch lightly before heading to the living room.

"Huh? Miyoko?... she's studying?"

I am dumb struck by this unusual sight.

(And she's concentrating hard too...)

(What is she studying?)

"Hey...Miyoko?"

"W-w-whaa?!"

For some reason she immediately hides all her study materials behind her back.

"W-why are you hiding it? You were studying, weren't you?"

"Uh, um...I was, but..."

"Th-there's nothing interesting to see! My notes are full of scribbles!"

She continues to hide away her study materials as she speaks.

"Hm? Well, you don't have to show me if you don't want to..."

I don't broach the subject any further, sitting directly opposite of her.

"Um...You seem really busy lately? Do you have an employment test coming up?"

"Huh?"

"Ah, no...it's not really anything like that..."

"Then why are you studying?"

As I speak something crosses my mind.

"Ah...does this have something to do with this new dream you mentioned a while ago?"

"Ah, um..."

"Well, I guess..."

"Then please tell me. Don't hide it."

"If there's any way I can help I will."

"R-really?"

She hesitates for a moment before finally speaking.

"Um..."

"The truth is, i..."

"I...I really can't say."

She ends her sentence while throwing a pillow at me.

"I won't tell! My dream is a secret!"

"W-Why?"

"Because if it doesn't work out I'll be really embarrassed!"

"Embarrassed if it doesn't work out.?"

What's would that be?

She then shifts along in the direction of the living room door.

"I...I will tell you eventually anyway...See ya later!"

"H-hey..."

She disappears like the wind just as she did before.

Leaving me there alone in the living room.

(What is it about her dream that could possibly make her embarrassed?)

(She did say that she will tell me eventually...but that'll make me more curious about it.)
