The return

Sean Lew's POV

Hi I'm Sean Lew and I'm going to be a sophomore this fall

I have good friends in Julian Deguzman, Bailey Sok, and Tahani Anderson

And I'm in love with my best friend Kaycee Rice

I had to go to China for our summer vacation with my family

Flashback

In Kaycee's room

She was currently hugging me to not make me leave

"I can't believe you're going to be gone all summer," Kaycee said to me

"Sorry Kayc, the family wants to go to China," I said

"Take me with you!" She said

"Your family wouldn't allow that" I laughed at her insistence of being with me

"You can stay with me then, my family practically adopted you," Kaycee said as it was true I spent probably more time with the Rice's than my own since I've known Kaycee

"Hahaha no besides I barely see my parents..., so this can be a good chance for me to bond with them"

"What about Wednesdays?" She asked

"You mean the Lew-Rice weekly game and movie night," I said

About two years ago, after noticing how Kaycee and I always play board games and sometimes her family joins us they suggested to bring my family which they somehow agreed to so we have been doing it weekly for about two years

Obviously, it's not everyone every week, as sometimes Kaycee's brother or my sisters are out of town, parents busy with work etc...

But it's been a tradition between our two family's now

"Yeah," she said

"I guess it'll be the Rice weekly game and movie night for a while," I say which doesn't excite her

"Okay..."

"No worries Kaycee we're still best friends," I said as I managed to drag us down to the front door as she keeps hugging me

"Forever?"

"Forever"

3 months later
Current day

Sophomore year

China was life changing but I'm glad to be back home

And guess who's the first person I see?

"Sean!" Kaycee says as she opens the front door with her backpack on

"Hey Kaycee," I say casually acting like I didn't miss her a ton

"I missed you so much!" she said jumping into me wrapping her legs and arms around me as I just held her

"Same" I hugged her back

"Kids you can hug there forever or go to school! Glad, see you again Sean" Mrs. Rice said

"Right!" Kaycee said dragging me away from the house

"Good seeing you again!" I said before we were out of listening distance

We ran to our bus stop and made it just in time

"Ok you have to get me caught up this is the longest we've been apart," Kaycee said who has not let go of me since she saw me
