Hera

It was official. I had made the decision and there was nothing no-one could do to change it. The idea was absurd, hasty and unexpected but it gave me a chance to think about a lot of things.

After a week of considering all of the pros and cons of my decision, I gathered everyone in the livingroom of my house and waited for Bryson and Damien to show up.

"So you called us all here to make us look at how nervous you can become from absolutely nothing?" Bullet asked sarcastically.

"I think there's a reason behind this family gathering. Spill it now, what are you waiting for?" Blade demanded, putting his cup of tea down.

"We have to wait." I said hastily and then looked at my watch again.

"For what? For Jesus to return to earth?" Blade asked sarcastically.

"Or maybe for global warming to end?"

"Or maybe for Poseidon to finally grow a brain?"

"Hey!" Poseidon exclaimed as though his feelings were actually hurt. "I have a brain." Poseidon defended himself.

"You, Poseidon King, are telling me, Blade King, that you possess some sort of neurological muscle in that empty skull of yours?"

"Yes. I, Poseidon King, am telling you, Blade King, that I do possess some sort of nerumonological muscle in this empty skull of mine." Poseidon defended himself poorly and made everyone laughed.

"Seriously Hera. As much as I love these family reunions, I do have a lot of work to do and..." Zeus spoke but was interrupted.

"... hello?" I heard the oh-so-familiar voice of Damien Genaro calling from the front door and I grinned like I freak.

"What are the Genaro's doing here?" Blade asked while standing up and Bullet did the same. They both had their hands gripped into fists on their sides and both looked ready for action.

"They are part of this meeting." I answered my half-truth and waited as Hilary ran to get them into the livingroom.

"Good evening everyone." Damien greeted them warmly while moving to stand next to Poseidon who had been sitting on the coffee table on my left.

"Good evening." I heard Bryson's voice from behind me and my stomach churned in many different ways. I felt him stand behind me and he placed his hand on my right shoulder. This was all the motivation I needed to announce the shock of the century to my extremely unpredictable family.

"I called you here because I have an announcement to make." I said and then made the biggest mistake of my life by looking at Blade.

Blade looked so much like my father in that moment. The way his face was full of confusion, but his eyes were burning from anger. The way his fists tightened with each second that passed and the way his breathing seemed more dangerous by the looks of his large torso expanding and contracting with extra effort put into it. I almost peed my pants trying to open my mouth, but it had to be done.

"I-I... I... I-I..." I stuttered pathetically while keeping eye contact with Blade.

I felt a tight squeeze on my shoulder and that gave me more motivation than I could imagine for me to go on. If Bryson was going to stand with me and face the dangerously destructive storm that went by the name of Blade King, then I could trust him to stand by me throughout anything in our marriage.

"Me and Bryson are getting married." I said and looked up to face a speechless family. Blade was the first to react.

"Repeat." Blade gritted.
