Claudia
"Claudia? You're still alive?"
I looked around the room and lingered in the silence. This was when I was most happiest, in silent terror. When I was capable of smelling the fear and hearing the heartbeats and tasting the blood. This was when life was the most glorious.
I took a look at my family and prepared myself for tears from them. I knew about everything that had happened to them in the past three months of the hell that they had to live through and I was back to avenge them.
I couldn't believe the words that escaped Alfonsi's mouth about the condition of my family. I also couldn't believe how weak Blade and Bullet had become. They were King men, they were supposed to be strong and merciless but looking at them now, I was rethinking everything I thought about them.
I looked at Cynthia and my heart ached. She understood the pain I was feeling. Both myself and her had lost a sister and I was going to avenge us. I couldn't even begin to imagine how heartbroken my mother was. She lost her husband and her daughter. If anything else were to happen, it could be lethal for her.
My family was skinny, weak, frail and hopeless, but I was back and I was ready to break someone's bones. I'd do anything and everything for the people I loved.
I looked at Maureen and my mind began ticking. The sadistic she-devil herself. I remembered Maureen perfectly from the beginning of my marriage to Charles. She used to love insulting and ridiculing me. She found her joy in bringing me down so I was going to enjoy killing her.
I didn't know why she chose my family as a target because I hadn't done anything to her. But then again, she was very similar to Estelle. They both enjoyed preying on the weak.
I inhaled deeply and said, "I'm alive." I said it slowly and softly just to make Maureen even more frightful. She had no idea how much I wanted to torture her. "And you're practically a dead woman walking." I said emotionlessly.
"How is this happening?" Maureen asked in shock and my eyes roamed to the gun wound on her left arm. I wondered who did that.
"I'm Queen Claudia King. I'm capable of absolutely anything." I looked at Charles and saw how heavily he was breathing while aiming his gun at Maureen. "You know... I remember you." I walked to my right and stood next to my husband, pushing his gun down. I knew that one more moment spent would result in a loss of his patience. Charles still had a short temper.
"Really?" Maureen grinned slyly, trying to pick herself up in front of me. "Last I saw you, you were so scrawny, weak and absolutely unbearable to look at. Now I'm just trying to figure out what's changed." Maureen seemed to be testing my patience.
"Last time I saw you... you basically spat in my face. Funny how the tables have turned because... you're at my mercy now."
"Oh really? I have the mansion. I have Throne. I even have your family. What do you have?" She laughed and my nose twitched. Her blood was all over the floor.
"I have something for you. Just... just wait a moment." I said, pointing my finger at her.
I walked away, taking my sweet time, and returned with my gift for Maureen, beautifully wrapped in tight ropes and chains.
The girl screamed in tears and I pulled the sack off her head, letting her see the people in front of her. The moment Maureen laid her eyes on her, she looked mortified.
