Chapter 26: Endangered Family

We all sat down and listened carefully to what Bullet was telling us. Blade ran upstairs immediately after walking into the house and hadn't been out since. They were at the hospital and instead of returning with Hera, they returned with bad news.

"They're leaving." Bullet said.

"Leaving to where? Bryson cannot take Hera away from us, we are her family." Sarah asked angrily.

"He looked extremely angry when he attacked us." Bullet said, holding his neck gently where I saw a manhandled mark. Bryson really gave them a reason to complain.

"And Blade? How badly did he get beaten?" Ayurv asked.

"His jaw is a bit swollen and his bottom teeth are bleeding. He didn't want to say a word on our way back." Zeus said from next to me. He didn't suffer as much pain but he still gripped his stomach from pain. My poor baby.

"Is Bryson really leaving with her?" Sarah asked in tears.

"Something in me is telling me that they're already gone. He looked so determined to take her away. He had good intentions but he went about it all wrong." Bullet admitted painfully.

"Everything is falling apart..."

"... good." We all heard a strong voice resound from the entranceway of the livingroom and we all looked up to face Estelle and a woman who I didn't know with Damien by her side.

The woman was short and small. She had dusty blonde hair, with greying roots, and ocean blue eyes that looked tired and old. She was dressed in a red blouse and black dress pants with black heels. She had a weird look in her eyes and I immediately held my son close to my chest.

"It's finally time for me to set the record straight." Estelle said with a malicious grin on her face.

Suddenly, big men dressed in all black with weapons in hand walked into the room and stood behind the two women and a Damien with an apologetic face. Two of the big men came towards us and grabbed Tanu, and the whole family stood up in fear and shock.

"Let her go!" Bullet screamed while trying to charge at Estelle, but she pulled out her gun and without flinching, shot on the ground inches from Bullet's feet.

We all stood and watched in shock as the men each grabbed a family member and took them outside of the house. I didn't have to be roughly grabbed because I had Jason and Mason in my hands. I cooperated for the sake of my sons.

They threw the family into a large black truck, without Blade, Bullet and Zeus, and then suddenly the truck began to move.

I looked around me and watched with fear at my family's scared faces. Bani and Tanu were already in tears in Bhavani's arms. Jason was crying miserably in my arms while Mason tried to soothe him. My strong boy.

"What's happening?" Charlene cried in Cynthia's arms while Sarah held onto Matthew Jr. for dear life. Claudia Jr. was in Mary's arms. We were only females in this truck so I assumed that all the males were in another vehicle.

"She's come back for revenge." Bhavani said with a shaky voice while soothing her fearful Tanu.

"What did we do to her?" Mary cried out.

"It's not us. It's Claudia." Cynthia said, making me shut up my eyes and pray to God for the safety of my family.

"Who was that other woman?" Sarah asked.

"I don't know." Bhavani answered, shaking her head.

We drove on like that. We were all in tears and shocked from what was happening. Jason had finally fallen asleep and Mason kept wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Stop crying, mommy." TsiTsi told me, making me smile pathetically at how strong he was being for all of us. He was so much like his father Charles, making me miss him.

Sarah kept praying the whole drive through while Tanu choked on her tears. I couldn't even begin to imagine how scared she was when those men grabbed her. I couldn't even begin to imagine how Charlene was feeling since she couldn't see what was happening. Mary looked a bit sick and Athena looked close to the verge of death. Her husband was all the way in New Jersey and he was completely oblivious to what was happening to his pregnant wife.

The truck finally came to a halt and the door opened, with the same group of men with rifles in hand standing there and taking us out of the truck. I gave Mason to Lexi and held Jason even closer to my chest.

Next to us was an identical truck to ours where the men came out. They were handcuffed and had bandanas tied around their mouths. I spotted Zeus and he opened his eyes wide from realisation of where we were. The King mansion.

Estelle and her friend showed up in a white Lamborghini and once they stepped out, they walked towards the front door and opened it. The men pushed us into the house that had so many bad memories.

It looked exactly the same as we had left it. I couldn't believe that there was once a shoot-out in this house. The same marble floor, the same grand staircase that decided into two near the end with the elevator behind the staircase for Hera and her wheelchair.

"Take everyone except Bullet, Blade and Zeus to the basement." Estelle instructed and the men didn't hesitate to shove us into the elevator and they pressed the button for the bottom floor.

I looked towards Zeus who was pushed down onto his knees and three men began to beat him up. The same happened to Bullet and Blade and I saw a huge smirk form on Estelle's face.

The elevator door closed and we moved in silent fear to the bottom of the mansion and once the doors opened again, I had to blink a few times to take in the environment. It was dark and smelt like death.

There was a huge space in front of us with bars surrounding it and a concrete wall behind it. On the left and on the right were two large steel doors.

Me, Lexi, Demi, and Mary were pushed with my sons into the open steel door on the left and before they closed the door, I saw Bani, Bhavani, Athena and Tanu being pushed into the one across from us. I guessed that Sarah, Charlene and Cynthia were in the room with the steel bars.

"What is this place?" Brie asked with a shaky voice.

"I dont know." I said and after a long time, I cried.

I was scared. We were only females in the cells so I wondered where the males were and I also wanted to know if they were safe. Were any of us safe now?
