Damien

I watched my aunt and Estelle laugh their asses off while eating scones and drinking tea. It almost looked normal. It almost looked like they hadn't just imprisoned an entire family.

"Ma'am..." One of the Genaro guards called my aunt from the front door. "... the rest of the family have arrived."

"Damien, take care of it." Aunt instructed and then continued to catch up with Estelle. I stood up from the stool I had been sitting on at the bar and walked to the front door.

There were two ladies, a man and a child in one of the ladies' arms. I looked at the man and felt a bit intimidated. He looked angry and ready to shed blood. The first lady was holding the cute little girl in her arms and looked scared beyond measures. Once my eyes laid on the second girl, my heart skipped a beat.

She was tall and skinny, a model type of body. She had light caramel skin with short brown curly hair which she had tied into a pineapple bun on her head. She had a thin face and well-defined cheekbones. Her face made her look delicate and fragile. Her big dark brown eyes were full of worry and fear and I felt bad for what my family was putting her family through. She was unbelievably beautiful.

"Who are they?" I asked with my eyes fixated on her.

"Jermaine Packer. Charmoné King and her daughter Kaylie, this is Bullet's family. And finally, Elizabeth King, Blade's first daughter."

Her name was Elizabeth. It suited her perfectly. She had the poise and demeanour of royalty and the face of an angel. Her lips were delicately shaped and the bottom lip was a bit thicker, making them even more appealing to look at and more tempting to taste.

"Take Jermaine to the rest of the men. Put Charmoné and her child with Blade's wife and put Elizabeth with the ladies' with the children." I instructed.

I wanted Charmoné and Kaylie with Bhavani since she was a doctor. I also wanted Elizabeth with the ladies' with the children because the security for them was less intense, letting my ability to see her more capable. I had to speak with her and make her understand why the Genaro's were really here.

"Move it." The guard instructed and I glared at him.

"Hurt either one of them and I'll do more than just gouge your eyes out." I gritted and he nodded his head vigorously.

Once they were gone, I went back to my previous seat and minded my own business as my aunt caught up with her supposed childhood friend.

I loved my aunt, no matter how crazy she seemed. After my parents died in a car accident when I was five years old, she and her husband took me in and raised me as their own. I grew up alongside Pearl, who was Bryson's older sister, and Bryson. I saw my aunt lose interest in the Mafia and the dangerous lifestyle it entailed and saw her get lost in the luxuries that she benefitted from it.

Once uncle Michael passed away, she had to dust off her rust and pick up where he left off. But she couldn't do it so she persuaded Bryson to do it for her. I thought that Bryson would follow the plan but he baffled me completely when he fell unapologetically in love with Hera.

"So, about the Mafia..." I heard my aunt bring up the topic and paid attention to what they were speaking of now.

"Yes?" Estelle asked with a smile on her face. "What about it?"

"Does your empire still exist? I am asking because I wanted to know if you could do your childhood friend a solid and negotiate with your leader to let me in."

"Leaders? We don't have leaders." Estelle chuckled.

"You don't?" Aunt asked, I was also shocked that their empire didn't have a leader like ours did.
