Chapter Nineteen

Max and Flo went to checkout of the rooms together while I stood outside and tried to figure out the fastest way to get to the docks.

We haven't travelled halfway yet but we are almost there, we saved a lot of time going straight instead of the trail trainers usually take.

I really wanted to use Arcanine to get there faster, but now that we had Max we couldn't. Flo said the Arcanine could only carry two people since it was exposed to a firestone right as it hatched, meaning Arcanine is still really young.

I decided to ask Max if he happened to own a Pokemon that we could ride on.

Flo skipped out the doors of the Pokemon center with Max right behind and we all started walking towards the forest in the direction of the docks.

"So Max," I began while Flo skipped ahead.

"Hmm?"

"What type of Pokemon do you train?" I asked, trying to be casual at first.

"I Uh, t-train psychic types.." He told me nervously before adding, "I think it's because of my love of reading and science and things like that.. ya know, psychic the wise and all."

I nodded and we continued walking for a little longer. I decided to wait until we were in the forest to ask him anything else, but he started a conversation on his own.

"Who was your first Pokemon?" Max wondered as we continued towards the forest.

"Gastly.. Haunter now." I told him honestly, he already saw my Pokemon so I can they'll the truth about that.

"Oh.. they sent me an Abra, it's evolved into a Kadabra now." He answered, "I've also caught an Espeon!"

Him being a psychic trainer made me feel uneasy, if he was against us then he could easily just hold us in place with psychic. But then again, Banette knows psychic so we can do it that way around, and ghost is strong against psychic.

We made it into the forest to hear the sound of faint crying coming from the deep part of the woods.

I don't know if they could hear it.. but I definitely could, it was a Pokemon.

Without saying a word I ran off the trail we were on and into the woods.

"Aut———- Averie!!" Flo called after me and began chasing me down.

I looked back and motioned her to call Max over.

Getting the message, Flo turned around and called for Max. He came running with us to.

We entered a clearing and looked around for the sound, It was here.. the voice got louder.

We looked everywhere, bushes, behind rocks, in trees, under rocks, near the pond, everywhere!

When we couldn't find anything, I decided to follow the sound it was making, it was hard to decipher as it was partly in my head.

I called out Banette to help us look for it.

"What do you need?" Banette asked right as he appeared in the clearing.

"Look for the sound of the crying." I told him, but he came up with an idea nobody had thought of.

"What if it's behind the waterfall?" He questioned, floating to the waterfall and letting some water drip on him.

I figured it was a good idea and walked around to the side of the waterfall, sure enough, the sound got louder and louder as I got closer to the waterfall.

I ran through the rushing water, getting soaked in the process, but it was worth it because I found the Pokemon.

It was a little Plusle sitting next to a tiny Minin, the Minun was the one crying.
