"Go! Mudkip!" The trainer across the field called out, tossing a pokeball into the air. A water type trainer, huh?
"Alright Haunter, go!" I announced, throwing Haunter's pokeball out.
The kid had a smug look on his face but I had a good feeling I was about to wipe him out.
"Haunter, shadow ball! Lets go!" I commanded taking the first shot. Haunter swiftly summoned up a purple ball of dark aura and launched it at his opponent.
Haunter was level 53, and this Pokemon was under level 20 at least since it wasn't evolved, that's how I knew I had this in the bag.
The move made contact with the fish Pokemon and it fainted instantly, easy battle.
"Man I wanted an actual challenge, I haven't battled -oh wow." Haunter began, getting cut of when the boy sent his next Pokemon.
Gyarados appeared in front of Haunter letting out an intimidating roar.
"Why did you start of with Mudkip when you have such a power-house?" I asked, still focusing on Haunter so he wouldn't take any surprise hits.
"Strength test, now I sorta know your level, 40-50 correct?" He asked, also answering my question.
"How do you know it wasn't level thirty? Can't that also wipe out Mudkip?" I wondered, hoping he would answer my question.
"Mudkip is actually a higher level then you think, it just didn't want to evolve."
Interesting.. anyway let's continue the battle.
"Haunter, Hypnosis!" I instructed.
"Dragon Rage!"
Gyarados' dragon rage hit, but it didn't do much damage, allowing Haunter to continue with his attack.
Gyarados was dazed, then it fell asleep. The giant water snake was vulnerable to attacks now.
"Dream Eater!" I announced, now that it was asleep dream eater would work real well.
Gyarados squirmed in its sleep, nightmares filling its mind as it helplessly lay on the ground.
Could've used nightmare, but I just wasn't thinking at that moment. Could've preserved some of Haunter's energy if I had thought of that move sooner.
"Shadow ball! Before it wakes up." I instructed, Haunter followed my commands. The other trainer made no effort to wake up Gyarados, probably because he knew it had no effect.
The attack hit, jolting Gyarados awake at the sudden pain from Haunter.
"Aw.. thanks man.. that place was horrifying.." Gyarados told us as it waited for the next command.
"Night slash!" Gyarados was weak at that point so I knew we would get this K.O.
"Ice beam!"
Gyarados let out ice beam, but thanks to Haunter's quick speed, he managed to dodge and then land his attack.
Gyarados let out another roar, a lot less intimidating this time.. and fell to the ground, fainted.
"Sweet! Good going Haunter!" I complimented, smirking, I had this in the bag. One Pokemon versus 2 and a half.. half since Haunter is kinda tired.
"Go! Vaporeon!"
"Alright Haunter take a break! I wanna show off another Pokemon." I called out before the battle started.
Haunter nodded, slightly disappointed, and I returned him..
"Let's go! Banette!" I announced, revealing my most responsible Pokemon.
